What is the one thing a teacher said in class that you will never forget?

Some of you have heard this one already.

This happend last semester on the last day of my Creative Activities for Children, class.

We ended the course doing art projects. We spent several weeks working with various art supplies and had to make a portfolio. On the last day of class we were showing our portfolios to the class and the professor made a comment about straw painting that sent me in such a fit of laughter, I had to leave. With straw painting, you take a straw and suck in a bit of paint and blow it out onto paper.

My professor said, "Remember, if you do not want the children to suck and swallow, put a hole in it and jerk it up and down". She even used a hand gesture.

I looked at my friend Tara and lost it. I left class and never came back that day.

That is hilarious Jen! My profs here @ the U of Windsor are a pretty boring lot, but I when I attended college in NJ( Bergen Community in Paramus for anyone wanting to know) I used to have this one very hilarious US history Prof. Smart as hell, but looked like an unholy crosss of Mr McGoo and Elmer Fud!😀 🙄 . The one thing I will ALWAYS remember about him is that whenever he was excited, he would make these almost orgasmic noises (eg.. Oh OOoo Oh yeah) and he got VERY excited teachin history. He used to have my friend Lou and I ( we were study partners and sat next to eachother in class) in hysterics wonderin if he sounded as excited makin love.😛 !
So not really a phrase he said, more his demeanor, but it is surly something I'll never forget, and made for an interesting class, to be sure!

I'll bet it did, Maggie. I never thought anything could make history class exciting. I wish I had taken his class the one semester I went to Bergen Community. Yep, I went in 1991. I still have to take my history elective. Yuck.

It's the things I've heard out of class that still crack me up the most...

But one time in collage a lecture about religion & the electronic media was being given, and the lecturer - a minister - mentioned this joke reguarding the Jim Bakker/Jessica Hawne:

"Jim Bakker broke the 11th commandment - 'Thou shalt not put thy rod in thy staff.'"

All I can think of is Mrs. Gaston coming back from the bathroom and her dress was tucked in her pantyhose, Richard the class clown asked her wasn't it cold in there to her and she said "why yes Richard, I do feel a drift" the whole room cracked up and she finally noticed what we all were laughing at and stuttered around and said " without thinking, SOB I knew something wasn't right, class dismissed" 🙂
