I'm not seeing any issues from my location, and IP pings are comign back clear.
I'll wager that you are experiencing a local web congestion issue. A hub in your area is probably out or sick. So it's messing up your ability to connect to some parts of the web.
These things clear up. Frustrating, but part of web life.

Something I learned a couple of weeks ago, after experiencing same. Was my internet connection to modem. Comp. tech said need to unplug it every once in awhile, let it cool down for a few minutes. Just the power supply.
