There are a couple things you can do to help with safety. Do your research with the person, like see if they are active members in the S&M community where you live, and if they are get feedback/references from others they have played with. If they are members, you can also make sure that your first sessions are at gatherings, so that even if you two are alone in a room, there are other people around. Less likely something would happen in that case.

If that situation doesn't fit, then you can still do research. Ie, find out if they have anybody as a reference for play partners. You can also make sure that initial meetings are in public places, to get a feel for the person. You could also have a friend come along, and even during the session itself, you could have a friend wait in their car, etc.

Admittedly, there is no 100% guarantee, but there are things that can be done. The important thing is to not feel pressured to do something you're not comfortable with, and if you get a bad vibe from a person, it's ok not to have a session with them.

When you say pro, are you talking about a professional sub/domme/etc where you book and pay for, or are you talking about somebody who is a pro when it comes to being tickled/tickling?

Either. The most typical safety measure is references. Some have a person they will text when the session is done, to verify that they are ok. There is an electronic "paper trail" of where they went. The sad reality is, any time a woman gets into a room alone with a man there some risk. With these measures, it's lower risk than many other ones, such as going home with a guy she met in a bar.

For me (1) reasonably attractive (does not need to be gorgeous like Jezebel Lee, though that is a plus), (2) reasonably ticklish - more is better, but inability to keep arms up without restraints is enough, and (3) after that, it's all about the way the interpersonal interaction works.

Not trying to put you off or anything, but please be prepared to face backlash as some people (men AND women) get very butthurt if someone profits off the fetish.

One more thought from me on session safety. I use two velcro restraints for wrists and tell her that because her wrists are together, she could undo those any time. I have her practice that once (i.e., her wrists are together in the restraints and I say, "now remove one restraint"). Then I tie her her wrists to something over her head. I don't tie her legs (and warn that if she kicks me, there is a big tickle penalty 🙂. I don't offer that the second time I see her and no one has ever asked for that for the second session. No one has ever actually undone the restraints during the session. The fact that I offer this puts her at ease, and the fact that she is able to undo the restraints also puts her at ease. Reflecting on the many paid sessions I had in sf Bay area, in LA, in nyc and Europe, I would say the lady's submissive attitude is the top factor. Nudity, at least topless, is a must for me, otherwise I feel the victim retains too much power.
