What songs do you really hate, ones that make you wanna throw up into your car wastepaper basket when it comes on the radio?

First of all, for me, it's anything by Macy Gray. Her voice sounds kind of like Mary J. Blige after she's accidentally swallowed a lugnut.
There was a single back in the late '80s, "When I'm With You" by Sheriff. The record is so awful that it has to be heard to be believed. Near the end of the song, the guy singing actually sounds like he's trying to be his own Mariah Carey and hit a high note that he can't possibly reach. Either that, or he's doing Tiny Tim.
All of Barry Manilow's recorded work falls into this category for me, but especially "I Write The Songs", which doesn't quite make me sick as it does make me laugh for long periods of time.

Anyone want to add to this?

Anything in the country music category makes me ill :xlime: , and don't even get me started about Shania Twain...Ugh!!!!! :ranty:

tbbw

I second country and most rap... Most of what's on pop radio stations these days makes me ill, so I don't even listen to the radio anymore for music. I only listen to NPR occasionally...

J-Lo. street rap (there are maybe 2-3 songs INVOLVING rap that I like, i.e. Erykah Bahdu's "plenty"). Don't hurt me. but
the Outkast song Heya or whatever. there is something about that song that makes me feel spastically angry.

There's a song by a guy named Josh Grobin that
s played often on the radio. I cant recall the name of it off hand, but every time I hear it on the radio, I cringe.

Josh Groban yep definitely....J.Lo (but the again i disliked the media hype surrounding her anyway),Britney is nauseating

From two different eras, songs that made me ill when they were played on the radio:

"Get Out of My Dreams, Get Into My Car"

and even worse was,

"Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, I've Got Love In My Tummy"

"Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton.

This guy was in The Yardbirds, Cream, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Derek and the Dominoes, and Blind Faith.
And comes up with worthless, sugary, dreck as "Wonderful Tonight"?????

and:

"Turn the Page" by Bob Seger and Metallica's version
"Open Arms" and "Faithfully" by Journey
"Crying", "Amazing", "Crazy", "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith

I'll take "Hey Ya" from Outcast any day over the above confectionary crap.

Drew

Almost any kind of rap. I can yell into a microphone like those guys. What makes me sick is they actually make money doing that crap!

Anything from Norah Jones. She is absolutely horrible and sounds like she's on drugs or something! Maybe she should consider Prozac therapy!

A song called "Always and Forever" and I don't remember the original group, but Luther Vandross did a remake (one of his many remakes) and it sounded almost tolerable. But, that is my least favorite song in the world. It sounds like it was recorded at a funeral! Don't talk to any of my fellow African Americans about this song, they think it's the all-time bomb! So do I, just not the same type of bomb!

As for some of the group's other choices:

Josh Groban, what's wrong with him? He's a great singer!
I happen to like Hey Ya from Outkast!
And who said bad words about Shania?

Raspberries to all of you poopers!😛

But I agree with JLo and almost everything that's going on in pop and rap right now. It's enough to make you hang your head out the car window and puke!

my brothers daughter keep playing this album from some kid called aron carter or something like that. That album makes me want to bang my head into a wall. I guess they give recording contracts to anyone these days.

Mostly everything and anything from 1990 - present with the acceptions of a few artists and albums here and there

That motherfuckin' "Evanescence" song who's name I can't remember but was everywhere after Daredevil opened! STOP PLAYING IT!! If the lead singer can actually do that stuff with her voice, what is she doing singing for this shitty NuRock genre instead of becoming the female Maynard James Keenan?

Anything by Nickelback...the band should have a bag of nickels slung upside their collective heads.

That Eve 6 song that starts out like "I would swallow my pride/I would choke on the rinds"...I will beat this entire band down like I was its daddy for making this shit.

and the worst offender of all time...

..."LOCOMOTION"...I...HATE...THIS...MUTHERFUCKING....SONG. I will burn every tape it's on, every record, CD, I will even burn the original fucking recording if I ever get my hands on it. The worst song ever written in history.

practically all motown music.

anything by michael jackson - especially the later works.

and justin timberlake, that sleazoid hypocrite.

oh kis - always and forever was performed by Heatwave. that was a biggie at the couples only portion at the roller disco.

Okay, Knoxxie and Clammy have both officially made my "HMPH!" list. Blah to you both! I love Sheriff (and he hits that note beautifully, thank you very much!), Nickelback is my FAVORITE GROUP, that 'damn song' My Immortal by Evanescence is gorgeous (hell, all their music rocks), and Inside Out by Eve 6 is a lyrical gift from God. *smacks Clammy* Develope some taste! 😛 😛 😛 😛

My list...hmmm...I'd agree with that song by Josh Groban, Hey Ya by Outkast (argh), and I don't much care for Norah Jones. Others I would add would be damn near anything by the Dave Matthews Band (I can not tolerate the sound of his voice), that damn "Your Body Is A Wonderland" song, anything grunge rock, anything from the Talking Heads, 80's fluff like Belinda Carlisle and Wilson Phillips, "Ray Of Light" by Madonna, and even though I like 3 Doors Down, if I hear that damn "Here Without You" song one more time I am gonna burn down the radio station. There comes a time when a song gets played TOO DAMN MUCH and it's time to shuffle it back into the friggin pile!

Mimi

BOY BANDS!!!! god damn if i hear one more thing about how they are back and so toxic with a genie in the bottle i will scream

Here's my list:

Anything from any boy bands and Britney Spears
You Light up my Life by Debby Boone
Country music
Norah Jones
Cher

hey kis, Always and Forever will be an all time classic, and don't act like you never started dancing once you heard it😀

Hey Ya was a great song. Anyone can sing it

And if anyone, and The Rock means anyone sings Don't Worry be Happy, I'll cut their head off and mail it to you:sowrong:

btw Smurfie, N'Sync and Backstreet Boys will have albums out later this year, so go out and buy one😀

and especially avril lavigne

Isn't she the grungiest looking little thing? She looks like she doesn't bathe daily. And she's too young to make such angry sounding music. Cheer up! You're rich, aren't ya'?😉

Thank you Mimi! I forgot about that Your Body is a Wonderland song. I haaaaaate that thing. That dude bothers me. He seems very impressed with himself. "Bubblegum tongue"? Eeew.

And Dave Matthews. Being the Ben Folds fan that I am, everyone expects me tolove DMB, but ack! His tone is so weird and whiny, and he NEVER enunciates. I never have a clue what he's singing about.

Anything by Mariah Carey

Anything by Britany Spears(she sounds like a robot)

Any rap

Any Willie Nelson

Any Hank Williams Sr.

Most Heavy Metal

I love Norah Jones!

I'll go with the Shania and J.Lo comments though. I'm sick of both of them.
