Okay, here we go with the next installment. 4 winners, 4 losers again.
ARIZONA: Officially the scariest team left in the playoffs, scary as in when they are going on all cylinders they look unstoppable. Hightower and James also make a great 1-2 punch. Even without Bolden, the Cardinal passing game is still one of the best. Arizona's defense again keeps coming up in big games.
CAROLINA:Jake Delhomme has now gone from Captain Comeback to Captain Let me have that throw back! Carolina's defense needs to look at some secondary free agents or high draft pick. Carolina needs a dominate pass rushing linebacker.
EAGLES:Again, Donovan McNabb can make the big play. Philly's D may not be able to stop the run, but they make just enough plays to keep you from relying on it. The No-Name receiving corps just continues making big catch after big catch.
GIANTS: Without a top threat receiver, the run game alone is simply not enough. Manning can't throw into a stiff wind. The Giants Defense while still good, was missing that big defensive spark. FINISH DRIVES!
BALTIMORE: Defense will win championships. Keep games low scoring (between 10-14) and Baltimore will probably win. Flacco has just enough to make 1 or 2 good drives a game, and with their defense that's all they may need.
TITANS: When you lose your speed, your dead in the water. When players get hurt, others HAVE to pick it up. Have a GIANT BUZZER go off whenever the play clock goes to zero at your home stadium. Tennessee needs some big play WR's to go along with Chris Johnson.
SAN DIEGO:Don't abandon the run, even if it isn't working you need to slow down the pass rush. Get your fastest player the ball when nothing else is working. By the time SD did, it was too late. When 100% healthy San Diego should challenge for a title.
PITTSBURGH: Ball control will WIN games. Defense is unreal. When Pittsburgh's offense and defense are playing at full strength and well rested, no one is going to beat them. Hines Ward is one tough SOB. Big Ben will make the big throw. The O-Line of the Steeler's could protect the President, they were that good.
ONE THING LEARNED OVERALL: The three top defenses in the NFL (Pittsburgh #1, Baltimore #2, Philadelphia #3) all won and moved on. A great defense makes a difference in the playoffs.
OK, all of your thoughts now.
