What would you do if you dated someone for a very long time who never knew about your tickling fetish and lo and behold long after the break up; their best friend who used to make fun of you the most contacts you on TMF? Or anyone else you might have known very well in the past for that matter and they had no idea about you..how would you react if they found you on the TMF because they have this fetish in common with you? or if its actually happened, how did you go about things?

I would at least take comfort in the fact that they share our interest and likely then wouldn't be holding it against you... but yes, very awkward situation for sure

If they found you on here because they share your fetish, then they cannot be making fun of you for it or trying to embarrass you over it, right? If you actually like this person and vice versa, who knows, it could lead to lots of fun. But if not, it's still not like they have something on you if they were on here themselves.

I suppose it would all depend on just how you felt about this person? "Used to make fun of me the most" doesn't sound promising, unless the teasing was a sort of adolescent, "I'll steal your pencil box because I actually like you" sort of thing. If he's someone you'd play with if you didn't know him prior, and the previous contact doesn't alter this fact then Id' say you've had quite a "stroke" of good luck.

Whatever you decide, be careful and take it slow. You said this person used to make fun of you. I'm not sure how trustworthy they are. Like Maestro said, it depends on the how they made fun of you - playful and teasing or just mean.

I know what you mean about the weirdest things happening to you, Jill. I often feel that way too.

It would seem to me that the real variable is the possible awkwardness from having your ex-boyfriend's best friend (assuming that friendship is still active) knowing your secret life and potentially spilling it to your ex. The fact that he once made fun of you doesn't seem such a big deal, because we all change with time. I've had very friendly exchanges with old classmates whom I never liked back in school. But I can see the awkwardness if you perceive this guy as a current link to your ex-boyfriend.

But since it's TMF where he found you, presumably this guy is reading this thread now and is sort of a part of the conversation. Is that so?

I would call it lucky myself, you dated a guy for a long time he never knew of your tickling fetish and you broke up and his best friend contacted you thru the TMF who does have the fetish. I would say go out with this guys best friend since you are broke up with him. You and this guy have something in common and it really could lead to something good. Just my take on it. Hope it works out for you.

Depending on the circumstances of the break-up, the cynic in me would probably be suspicious of said-best friend. I'd be on guard until I knew they were legit, and not trying to use this against me.
