What's The Best Free AntiVirus Software?

I've been using Norton AntiVirus for a few years and I think it's very good but I don't like it being such a resource hogger. My Norton subscription runs out in January and I'm thinking of trying something else. I know people that use AVG AntiVirus (the free edition) and I was thinking of trying that one. I've heard good and bad things about it. I've seen it and seen how it operates. So is AVG a good choice? If you like it, give reasons why. If you don't, give reasons why. Thanks 🙂

If that doesn't work, though I think it ought to, go to http://www.trendmicro.com/ and find the HouseCall function. It's a free online antivirus scanner, and it's often superior to Norton.

Trend Micro are the people who make the PC-Cillin antivirus software, which is pretty popular.

Panda Software has an online scanner that is just the TiTs ....!!

Works like a charm....!!
