I remember seeing some of the earlier comic book movies that were made in the 70's and 80's I didn't like any of them except for Batman. Some of the TV Series were good, but the movies were nothing special.
But today there is technology to make the super powers and stunts of super heroes seem real. The only thing missing is the ridiculously huge builds men had and the hour glass figures that women had.
X-men resurged the interest in comic book movies and now there are several more coming out.

What’s a week without an update on Marvel movie projects? A waste, I tell you! Avi Arad has been spilling more beans about the comic company’s cinematic prospects again, and here’s a rundown of the more interesting stuff:
• Fantastic Four has been moved back to summer 2005. Fox and Marvel had been a little obsessed with getting the movie out December 4, 2004, but they finally realized that a big budget special effects movie without a script or director would have a tough time making it to theaters in twelve months.
• Ghost Rider will be PG-13, and still stars Nic Cage (sigh). Arad expects production to begin sometime after the new year.
• Iron Man is being written by the Smallville team of Miles Millar and Alfred Gough. Arad characterizes it as an expensive movie, and says the script will be ready by the end of the year. He also calls the film “Howard Hughes meets superheroes.” I can’t wait to see who plays Tony Stark’s network of Mormons tasked with fetching him fresh blood.
• Nick Fury is bringing his SHIELD Helicarrier to the Cineplex someday soon. Arad says that the one eyed spymaster will be played by an actor who always wanted to be Fury. I thought that was David Hasselhoff, and I thought he already defined this character in a Fox TV movie?
• Mort the Dead Teenager continues its inexorable approach to the big screen.
• X-Men 3 and Hulk 2 are scheduled for 2006, along with Captain America (now hiring one of the world’s “greatest writers.” I guess Avi got Salinger out of retirement. And no, I don’t mean Matt), Namor (which Arad claims will have “more fish than Finding Nemo.” Now THERE’S a tagline), Iron Fist, and Nick Fury.
Oh and hell boys is coming out next year too.
