As a potential of human nature, we may comfortably assume it's been around for quite a long time,.... human nature has not significantly changed for thousands of years. But the way we communicate has had some pretty drastic changes.

From a historical standpoint, we know that the Russians have been into foot-tickling for centuries,.... it was even a wedding-day ritual,... sort of like carrying the bride over the threshhold. Does the name Karamazov ring a bell? Pre-20th century authors from Swinbourne to Goethe have mentioned it,..... Oh wait,... does de Sade count?

As a modern cultural development, the media phenomenon had its tentative origin in the "True Man" adventure and other various "detective" style magazines of the 50's and 60's. Once some folks realized that they were not all that alone,.. the US Post Office became the medium of choice,.. That's around the time I got involved. The rest is technological history.

Since chimpanzees tickle each other, I presume that tickling goes back millions of years to the pre-human, pre-chimp common ancestor. 😀

I think it's been around a while, but only since the Internet started to take off in the mid 90's did it really grow, as resources became far more accessible, and we started to realise that we weren't alone, and that thousands of others exisited who were also into tickling!

The notion of tickling as a paraphilia was invented by Gudrunn The Madhead, Viking leader of the Jutland NotNiceMans Viking warband, sometime during the Viking period of history as an excuse to annoy women.



Either that or it's just one of those natural things that has occurred during the evolution of humanity and the human psyche. Who can say? Personally I prefer the Viking explaination but that's just me.

probably through sex 😉 just messing around. but i could totally see that. can you imagine the first 2 people on earth (if this is part of your beliefs) all alone and not having to worry about people finding out about their fetish? interesting thoughts.
