Hello! Long time lurker, first time poster... umm Hi ^_^, both lee and ler age 22 from NH....

My question to you lot is when did you know you had a tickle fetish? I suppose I didn't KNOW until I was a teenager but I had early on signs. When I was a child, I had dreams about my favorite cartoon characters being tickled whether it be free or tied up. It made me feel good and as a kid I often played with my dolls tickling eachother and what not. Now that I'm older, I realize it was early on signs of my fetish which makes me ponder about another question. Do we not choose our fetishes or are they somehow bred into us? I can't see how it could have been for me-but some insight would be nice.

Just seeing when everyone else knew and if anyone wants to discuss nature/nurture of the matter. Thank you ^_^

This is a common, but excellent question to us tickle-folk. My personal experience with this seems along the same lines as yours. Knew I liked tickling since as young as five or six. For me, it probably started from this one picture-book of which I forgot the title, about this "rabbit kingdom" of sorts, where the big fat mean king rabbit tied and tickled the paws of his rabbit subjects who didn't give him enough carrots (the story ultimately ended with a rabbit rebellion of sorts, and the mean king got the same treatment as justice, though I was quite upset about that, as he clearly didn't deserve such a "treat" xP).

Though, "fetish-wise," I'm fairly sure I didn't think of it in a sexual light until maybe 11 or 12. It sure did seem like it back then, though, as I had a quite innocent love for tying myself up, as well. x) *shrugs* Who's to know?

As for your second question, I think it can be a combination of both. Like, it's theorized that foot fetishes are brought about by some sort of heightened interaction between the two parts of the brain that corresponds to foot activity and sexual activity...so maybe it's the same with the experience of tickling/being tickled? But there are often cases where people "learn to like" tickling after being with a significant other who likes it as well, or after some sort of experience with it much, much later in life, while it wasn't active at all before then.

Personally, I'm fairly sure that rabbit book had a big part of why I grew to like tickling, though the "fetish" portion of it probably has something to do with my crazy brain. ^_^;

hmm, you're discovery sounds the same as mine lol. although i didnt play with dolls, i did like watching teenage mutant ninja turtles when i was about 5, especially parts where don turtelli was tickling someone's feet. like i would rewind and watch it a couple times xD but i dont think i was really aware that it was a fetish until highschool.

I've been fascinated with bondage and tickling for as far back as I can remember...so, I guess around the age of 5 or 6...there-a-bouts. One thing I find a little odd is, even though I can't possibly imagine were I would have seen a hogtie at that age... I do remember having fantasies of tickling girls in that position. Just so ya know... we're going back to around 1960-61 here... there wasn't a lot of bondage porn floating around back then (tho some did exist at the time) that I would have accidentally been exposed to.
Of course I didn't know the term fetish at that age... none the less these fantasies did arouse me... so I had this fetish even then. How I got it... is it nature...nurture... a combination of the two... I honestly can't say.

I was quite young, maybe 6. Babysitter tickled me, and I almost instantly realized it was a form of control. I don't know why it affected me that way, but it did.

Genetics may play a role. Looking back I believe a cousin of mine may have a tickling fetish because some things stick out in my mind. I would never feel comfortable enough to ask her though lol.

Honestly, I don't remember when it started, but my parent's told me this as I grew up.

'Ever since you could've walk you would jump on some long legged girls leg and cling to her like a Koala. Sometimes you would tickle her...' and so on and so on. So for me it wasn't a discovery, it just me and it will stay me, although I can't jump on girls legs now 😛

I had similar-ish experiences. I remember that I was absolutely fascinated by tickling at a very young age. There was a scene in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang that I would rewatch several times. Also, my first grade teacher would sometimes tickle her students on the playground if they put themselves in vulnerable positions, and I would ALWAYS try to make myself 'vulnerable'.

A little later in life I would have fantasies about tickling/bondage, but not in the strictly sexual sense.

Around the 8th grade I realized that fetishes existed, which is definitely when things clicked for me.

I think I was 7 or 8. I use to watch the ninja turtles cartoons. I knew when I saw the episode where April O'Neal got her foot tickled.
