When is it a bump?

At what point is it considered a bump?
When it brings it back to the first window?

A bump always will bring things back to the top.

A bump is a post made simply for the purpose of bringing a thread back into view.

There are good and bad bumps. Good ones are when the comment is actually additive to the threads topic, or the thread is suddenly worth seeing in the light of new current events.

Bad bumps are simply raising the dead for no other reason then to raise the dead. Thus the term necro-posting.
