When is it time to raise the intensity?

Hi guys. Looking for the opinions of both lees and lers on this one. From reading peoples' posts over the years, it seems pretty standard that during a tickle session you start off with more gentle tickles, and only raise the intensity later on, once the lee is "warmed up" for want of a better expression.

I'm wondering, from a ler's point of view, are there signs you look for that let you know it's time to step it up? Or maybe you just ask them.

For lees, do you always start wanting more intense tickles after certain other things have been done? When do you decide that you want to be really tickled?

I'll try to answer this from both ends of the feather, so to speak.

Ler:

As a ler, I think you're looking for that moment when the gentle, slow tickles aren't getting the same reaction that they did at first. Once it seems like the ticklee is "warmed up", and getting sensitized to the light stuff, that's when I would think to try to do something a bit more intense.

I think a good tickler varies back and forth between gentle and more intense, keeping the nerves of the victim constantly on edge.

Lee:

As a ticklee, I think it varies from session to session, depending on how sensitive I am that particular day. A certain light touch might be torturous in the right spot, and that could be kept up for a long time without me feeling like i needed more.

Contrarily, I might be feeling like really laughing, and hopefully, the tickler recognizes that and obliges.

For both ends, I think communication is paramount. A good relationship outside the tickling would allow for both parties to know how to share what they wanted without needing to flat out tell the other person. Of course, maybe certain relationships benefit from blunt, brutal honesty, such as "Tickle me harder, damn it!"

In summation, I have no concrete answer.

I'm a LER & my answer is ALWAYS... 🙂

If its the first time i have someone tied and am tickling them, I usually look for all the spots to see where she is most ticklish, sensitive with light to medium level tickles and pokes.

Once i've explored all the important areas, then i turn up the tickling to more intense. Just so long as she is breathing ok, all systems are GO!!!

The rythm of tickling is made up of 2 parts: when the lee is freaking out e.g. hysterical and when she is not.

The periods when she is calm(er) are fun because you can make her freak out again anytime and she knows that you can do that and you know that she knows that etc... Tickling may still be going on here, light tickling, exploratory tickling.

The hysterical periods may consists of intense tickling, but also by tickling new spots.

I like a hysterical period very soon in a session so she knows who is in control and what she is in for.

Well, that is my view, so in answer I think it is not possible to tell excactly when you should be more intense

ditto

I would say when the comfort level between the lee and the ler has grown
