Where did you first meet?

If you have actually met people into tickling, where was it?

For me, it was at the very 1st gathering I went to. NEST in the fall of 1999.

Similarly here -- NEST, spring 1999. I'd met one guy in my area occasionally before that to trade tapes, but NEST was my first encounter with the community.

Or "people" as in the superset of every individual you have ever met ?

If I met a girl 17 years ago who wanted to be tickled, does that count ?

If I came across a woman in Antarctica last week via the chatroom,,, does that count ?

Intentionally met?

I met a few people individually for lunch at area restaurants before moving to CT...including a couple folks from here. I met my hubby at my house after inviting him up for a weekend (after MANY online and phone conversations. Met a tickle bud from FL at my house after a couple years of chatting constantly. Met a few others at restaurants here in CT. Have connected with a number of folks at gatherings here and in Philli.

Unwittingly met?

I've had a few teachers over the years who were into it.

Half the people I've ever known were into it to some degree or another...relatives, friends, co-workers.

We even unknowingly may have met another tickle fan in our realtor, who suggested to me the other day that I tickle Drew to help him relax with all the tension of the upcoming move. lol

Yep, Spring of '99 NEST as well for me.

I can still remember walking up MAX's staircase and feeling overwhelmed with emotion(Fear, exitment) about what I would find when I reached the top step...
I met QBWeaver 🙂and then about 30-40 other people!

After NEST, then I started meeting others indiviually...

What I meant was intentionally went somewhere to meet people that you have talked to online or in a forum like TMF.

It can be a group of people or a 1:1 meeting.

I met SmileyTkls right here on campus finals week of Au02 quarter. We talked for an hour and then went down to the "gameroom" where he proceeded to tickle my socked feet and various other places. it was a nice meeting and he's a nice guy. I would vouch for him any day.

I met Angie sometime earlier this year. I drove up to meet her at her place, then we came back to mine. I tickled the heck out of her for about an hour, then we had lunch. After that, she had to go pick up her kids. It was fun. 😀 Shame I've not had the opportunity to do it again... or with anyone else, for that matter.

Only one

Since 1983 I've occasionally placed personal ads looking for female tickle friends. Zero replies (what a shock) to date.

But the first ad I placed drew a response from a fellow male tickler who wanted to swap stories, etc., and eventually I got to know him. He was a cool dude named Bobby and I learned a lot from him about approaching women (never my strength) to tickle. One of these days I gotta start a thread about our adventures - we combed beaches, renaissance fairs and parks looking for girls to tickle. Had some success, too. Bobby was the only person "into tickling" that I met because of our shared enthusiasm.

Mind you, 1983 was years before the Internet. Being a tickler was a lonely walk. Except for the Village Voice (a radical newspaper published in New York City) it would be rare to see a personal ad for tickling anyplace, let alone the New Jersey music newspaper where I first tried it. TIED & TICKLED magazine did not even debut until around 1985, with the CalStar TIED & TICKLED videos a year or two after that.

But let me not ramble on. I will save that for my future posting on the days with my tickling partner in crime, Bobby. Sadly, we lost touch several years ago. But like I said, more to come on that.

It's quite sad actually...lol...Only three people have tickled me for real intense tickling...(that's if you count my dad...lol...I know, eeeew)...The other two people I met online...both members of tmf and one who only lives 15 minutes from me...additionally, many little pokes and squeezes here and there that are awesome for the few seconds they last but nothing noteworthy...\

I have a friend who squeezes my shoulders every time I see him just to hear me screech...lol..ya never know what may turn up tonight at the halloween party I'm planning on attending...I teased one friend who knows I love captain feathersword (a pirate from the kids show The Wiggles, who ceremoniously goes around tickling everyone saying "I love to tickle!!!"...lol) Anyway, he jokingly says he is going to the party as this character and tickle me silly...I should be so lucky...lol...I am however, planning on getting tickled like mad for about a week over winter break 🙂 🙂

First I drove to Jersey to meet TickledToDeath/Ed...

and then I traveled with him to SBG I. I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into, but it didn't take long for me to feel very comfortable and safe. Of course, being shy and all it took a while for me to open up to people. 😀

I think I might have been overwhelmed if NEST had been my first gathering, simply because so many people attend and you have such a short time to get to know anyone.

kwil and I are looking forward to the next SBG. 🙂

We first met on yahoo chat. Any female with "tickle" as part of their yahoo ID will almost certainly get a pm from me. So after several meetings it eventually moved to the phone. Ultimately we met in person at a greyhound bus station and then to my place. She was very ticklish!! 🙂 We hope to do this again soon!

PS Was not the same greyhound station as Sunrisetickle although that would have been fun. 🙂
