Just wondering: BOFH posted a satirical article yesterday, here in Gen Disc. Several posters complained that this political satire should be moved to the "Humor forum", and a mod moved it there.
I disagree with this decision. Political satire is an artful form of discussion, meant to trigger serious thoughts. It doesn't belong to the junkyard that our humor forum has become, with predominantly nonsensical threads (which admittedly have their justification in a humor forum). However, no serious discussion is likely to emanate from there. Threads there tend to vanish to the next page with astonishing speed. Even real jokes are rare there, for the same reason.
Now, regardless if Yanks (or us Krauts for that matter) do always understand subtle British humor, political satire does belong to the section where other political discussions are placed, not to a purely non-political section, IMHO.
What's your opinion on that?
BTW, here's BOFH's article: http://www.ticklingforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44139
