So, yesterday, PAINTEDakiGREEN and I were sitting in a Hall of our college and we got to talking about names; their origin and what they mean.

So, we decided we wanted to know where your names were from and what they meant and any others that you like.

My name is Jessica and hers is Crystal.

My name means, "God sees." Crystal's name means, literally, "shiny rock."

God sees shiny rock! :scared :stickout

Because, He is five and can't form proper sentences. Hahaha.

Now, it's your turn.

Who are you and what do you mean?

dunno it's just simple Bart , dunno the meaning behind it tough it seems the be a short one for Bartolemhew or something

Ariel means Lion of god.

A better question is:

Who is your daddy, and what does he do?

I don't see why not. Since I've been to this site for so long, I'll assume it's quite safe so here's mine.

First name: Aisha (R-ee-sha) - Location: African/Nigeria, Meaning: Life
Middle Name: Shalehee (Sha-Lee-hee) - Location: African/Nigeria, Meaning: Peace

The problem is, whenever I say my name to other, some or many tend to get confuse and only knows that my name is a girl's name...so I had to explain them about my name...sometimes it works, and they either get it right soon or have little trouble saying it right. Other time, I run to some stupid one and think my name should have an "r" in it, which is shouldn't for my mother gave me that name and at first I used to be shame to have it, but not anymore...I'm proud of having that name, and if one say something offensively about my name and doesn't care about my feeling, then they are not worth talking to at all.

Forgive me for saying all that...I had gone through a lot of it because of what name I was giving.

My name = Brandin.

Brandin = male version of "Brandi".

Brandi = my mother's nickname in highschool.

Literal meaning? I have no damn clue.

ALTHOUGH!!

My middle name is "Koapaka," which is Hawaiian for "brave" or "brave flower" (I tend to go with the former).

Be swift in the breeze, Brave Flower. -falls over laughing- haha I love you, Brandin. XD thanks for sharing.

My name, Adam, means different things in diff languages and religons but the best definition i have found is

' Man, body of the red earth ' As Adam being, the first son of some chap called god, who formed him out of the earth. 🙂
😛issed:wub:rolleyes:blink:drool:blush

Mairead (Pronounced like "parade" but with an M) : Gaelic for Margaret

First name Jon
Jon or john is pronounced Jahn. It is of Hebrew origin, and the meaning of John is "God's grace".

Middle name Erik
Erik is a popular name, a cognate of the Old Norse name that gave Eric. However, there are some who believe the name comes to the Old Norse via the Germanic "ehre" (honor) and the Proto-Germanic "rik" (king), hence "honorable king". This was the name of twelve kings of Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Is is also sometimes used by English-speaking parents as an alternative spelling to Eric.

I used to work in a bookstore, whilst i was there I looked up my surname-
Woolley-from the valley of the Wolves. Grrrrr! lol

never knew my name would have an awesome meaning.

Norman = is Celtic for north + man. or northman aka Norseman as in vikings and such. i love it.

my middle name is Frederick = is Germainic for peace + king.

it's kinda ironic that my name came from my father's side, but my mother's side is where i have strong Celtic and German blood.

1st name, Nicola.
I have a plaque type thing that says the origin of my name is greek, but I just looked it up online and it says Italian, so I'm not sure where it's from. The meaning however, is the female version of Nicholas, meaning victory of the people.
So there ya go lol

I'm not particularly proud of what my name means, since it doesn't suit me well, and has the incredible opportunity for being taken out of context.
