Right now four teams remain undefeated in the NFL - New Orleans, Indianapolis, Denver and Minnesota. All of these teams should make it to the playoffs. I think Indy could even go undefeated. Who you got being the last to lose a game?
Minnesota is a very good team. It's just unfortunate for them that they play consecutive away games in Pittsburgh and Green Bay. It's going to be tough for them to win both those games, but not impossible. If they can somehow win both games then I don't see them losing until the Arizona game at the beginning of December at the earliest. I think they'll lose tomorrow or next week.
Denver is for real. People have questioned (some still are) whether the Broncos were seriously as good as they've looked this season. They've beaten Dallas, New England and San Diego the last few weeks. Now they have their black-and-blue games. They aren't scheduled to play this week, but when they return they must face Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Just like Minnesota, I don't think they'll win both games. I'm not sure that they'll win either. I still think they will be a good team, win-or-lose. They'll be tested by New York, Indy and Philly late in the season.
New Orleans is kickin' ass. They're the team that scares me most. I'm not sure that any defense can stop that offense. They are definently the favorite in the NFC at the moment and I expect that to be the same in December. They have games versus Atlanta and New England within the next month. Both games will be home games that I expect them to win. I don't see them losing until they face the Falcons in Atlanta in December. Hopefully a loss to Dallas will follow that game.
Indianapolis. There aren't a lot of players or teams that I like in this league outside of Dallas, but Peyton Manning and the Colts have always been one of my favorites. Peyton is having his best season without Marvin Harrison, and the Colts look terrific. Games versus St. Louis, San Fran, and Houston over the next three weeks gives them an advantage when it comes to staying undefeated. I think it's safe to say that they will win those games. Then the Patriots come calling on Sunday Night, followed by a trip to Baltimore (which I hope to get tickets for). Two tough games against opponents they're familiar with. I think the Colts are the best in the NFL right now and I expect them to beat New England convincingly and Baltimore in a close one. They also have a game versus Denver in December, another game against a quality opponent. Denver is goos, but not on Indy's level. Indy can lose this season, New England and Baltimore being the best chances, but I honestly think that Peyton Manning will lead his team to an undefeated season. Talk of that can officially begin if they can get by New England and Baltimore with wins.
