Who here still watches cartoons? lol

Ooops, I forgot a few. "Space Ghost, Coast To Coast", an occasional "Johnny Bravo", and some old-school stuff like "Looney Tunes" (especially Buggs or Daffy) and "Rocky & Bullwinkle." I must say, I do not get superheroes-- in comics, movies, or in cartoons. I also have never watched more than a minute of anime. It just triggers a reflex that makes me hit the remote (hit as in punch with fists of fury). A lot of people like it, so maybe there's something there. I just can't force myself to actually watch.

One other thing-- Buggs & Daffy kick Mickey & Donald's ass. Even as a kid, I never got the sugary-sweet Disney corporate line. Give me those Chuck Jones smartass characters every time (but only if the great Mel Blanc is doing the voices).

Jayd

As you know (and are probably sick of me mentioning) I am the ultimate Marvel buff, so yep i watch it!

Oh yeah, I watch cartoons.

favorite one as a kid, and still a fave...........

The SuperFriends!!!!!!!!

I can still hear the intro.....

Gathered here in this great Hall of Justice, are the greatest forces ever assembled.

Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman & Robin, Aquaman, and the WonderTwins, Zan & Jayna...with their space monkey, Gleek.

Here in the UK, we don't get a lot of the kick-ass slightly more adult cartoons that you guys do. Like the aforementioned adult swim. They showed Space Ghost Coast to Coast, The Brak show and aqua teen hunger force for about 2 weeks on an obscure cable channel that was quickly decomissioned. I did catch about 2 episodes of Harvey Birdman as well which I thought was absolutely hilarious. Alas. Now gone, never to be heard from again.

Other than that, the cartoons we get over here are mostly lame, so I tend to rely on my Transformers and Family Guy boxsets.

Ok, as far as classic toons goes...I love Tom & Jerry, and the old school Warner Brothers shorts. Also I am not sure if anyone here remembers a show called Battle of the Planets, but when I was a kid that show was the ultimate bad ass cartoon. We always played G-Force at recess.

For newer stuff, I love Family Guy...that baby cracks me up. "Get me out of this corduory, stink filled dungeon immediately!"

But my favorite is Invader Zim...that show is a f**king riot. "Let the world quiver in fear at the sight of my giant Peepee!" If you've never seen this show check it out, I guarantee you'll crack up at least once.

Well I'm not sure if you meant older cartoons or newer ones....but here's my rundown minus anime because for me it's in its own category and my list would end up being FAR too long.

1. Rocco's Modern Life (Who COULDN'T love 'nipples of the future' or Filberts playboy photo session or Kind-of-alot-of-comics)

2. Invader Zim (Gr is straight up awesome)

3. Ren and Stimpy (Don't whiz on the electric fence! Don't forget weiner land)

4. Woody Woodpecker (Highly suggestive name, highly addictive show)

5. Looney Tunes (El Toro, the operas, Pussyfoot with Marc Antony, Duck Dodgers, Rabbit Season-Duck Season, I LOVE THEM ALL!)

6. I R Baboon along with Cow and Chicken (Who wouldn't love this show and the highly...feminine satan)

7. Doug (Seemed like a cartoon version of The Wonder Years)

8. Hey Arnold! (I cannot say HOW much I love this cartoon, it is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES! "Okay madam fortress mommy!")

9. Dexters Lab (This just cracks me up)

10. Spongebob (I love Patrick and Mister Crabs)

11. Home Movies (Not many people have seen this cartoon, but I guarantee anyone who watches it will find one character to love. It's pure cartoon gold.)

12. Harvey Birdman (The one on adult swim where he is a lawyer...and just...god it's hilarious) (Come to think of it...all of adult swim, I usually like all cartoons they have posted on there.)

13. The Critic (I used to stay up late at night for this baby, it wasen't quite as good as others I've watched, but it made me laugh so it goes here.)

14. Daria (I can't help but love her dry dull voice mocking just about anything with even more dry sarcasm)

15. Ambiguously Gay Duo (I think no further comment is necessary)

That's it for now...Hell if I can think of anymore. It's 1 in the morning

I love the usuals--the Simpsons, Family Guy, ATHF, etc. I also LOVE old school Nickelodeon Cartoons!!! I was flipping through the channels yesterday and was watching one of their newer ones, which happens to be cute--My Life As A Teenage Robot. About a teenage robot, in case the title wasn't a giveaway!!! Anyhoo, on yesterday's episode, she saw her two guy buddies tickling eachother and wanted to know what it felt like, so she had her mom, a brilliant scientist, install touch sensors all over her...and she could flip a switch so she either felt tickling, nothing, or pain. And boy, I thought of everyone here when the switch was set to tickling...I always loved seeing it in cartoons as a kid--Mario Brothers, Raggedy Anne and Andy, Ninja Turtles--ALL had some tickling in it...and it made me really pleased to see such things, made me feel more normal as a child...so I hope that any little bitty ticklephiles out there saw My Life As A Teenage Robot...and I hope it made them smile and feel a little bit better about themselves...

And that's my rant...I LOVE CARTOONS!!! Cartoon network is on at my place most of the time the TV is on!!!!! WHOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Are we including anime here? Because Azumanga Daioh wipes the floor with quite a few western cartoons.

HEY! There are cartoons...and there are animated series. Let's show some respect here. 😉

I love animation, US and Japan. I'm not into Pokemon-and-porn anime, but rather intelligent and beautiful series such as "Revolutionary Girl Utena", "Noir" and films by the likes of Satoshi Kon and the great (and Oscar-winning!) Hayao Miyazaki. A friend of mine in Canada is sending me a tape of a series called "6-Teen" that she loves as well...and she's in her 20's, for the record.

My faves here in the US: "Powerpuff Girls", "Samurai Jack", anything by Matt Groening, "Tom and Jerry" (yep, I still laugh at those, and when Tom wins I get very happy!) and most of Adult Swim's stuff. Special kudos to the 1990's Batman and Superman animated series as well, not to mention the funniest cartoon EVER: "The Tick"!

I'm not saying that Western carttons are bad. Just that anime is so much better. A lot more creativity on the behalf of the people who make it (to a certain extent anyway) plus you get off the wall comedy that looks like Monty Python on LSD (Excel Saga anyone?)

I do too - well, cartoon in the singular, really. My all-time fave is The Simpsons (I'd love to be Bart and tickle Lisa crazy! 😛). I also like Futurama, and if Channel 5 showed it, I'd also watch The Powerpuff Girls (strangely, I got into PPG through reading fanfiction, not the usual way around of going into fanfiction because I liked the show - odd...).
There's kind of a running gag in the PPG fandom now on FFNet that I have a crush on Bubbles. 😀

Oh, I know...I was just hamming it up. 😀 Anime is better in some ways, but part of that is because of the US audience...a show as intelligent and breathtaking, yet deep and complex as "...Utena" would NEVER fly on US television. Yet I think it's the greatest animated series I've ever seen.

The list would be too big. These are the few ones that I could think up now. To bad I can't catch any of the series on the TV... Well I guess one could say it was my fault because I don't watch TV at all... But here is where my trusted PC and divx come into PLAY.

here is a socker. it is rumored that the hollywood brother himself has been known to watch a cartoon once in a while like lonney tunes, adult swim, simpsons, johnny bravo and others

TRANSFORMERS!!!!!!! OMG no one has mentioned it...did you miss the 80's?? LOL After school at 3:30pm. HB, seriously dude, the third person ain't workin for ya😛

The old Warner Bros. stuff......Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety & Sylvester, Road Runner & Coyote, Foghorn Leghorn.....I'm tellin ya...are ya lissenin boy?....I'm-a-tellin ya.... The ones you gotta think about when you watch 'em.....and we didn't when we wuz young, but as an adult, we got it. And to to *$#&% with them being violent. Watch the new stuff.

There are quite a few cartoons I still enjoy. Some have already been mentioned like Justice League. I like the old (and new, sometimes) X-men shows. Witch Hunter Robin is at the top of my list now, even though it's anime. Also, Reboot has always been a favourite as well, though it is more CGI and less cartoon. Same with Beast Wars. Oh, speaking of which, Transformers own.
