If you do not like pro wrestling, fine. Please post elsewhere. This is a thread for those who do. Please:No "Wrestling is fake" posts. We all have our opinions on that. The question is simply Who is your favorite pro wrestler and why? And yes, pro wrestling is considered "Sports" entertainment. That's why this is posted here.

My favorite wrestler off all-time is Stone Cold Steve Austin. I loved his bad ass, DTA attitude. The WWE hadn't really seen someone like that, a person who challenged authority and didn't give a damn about anyone else, and he was just being himself. His fueds with Vince and the Rock were some of the best that wrestling has ever seen.

In todays game I like Edge, Randy Orton, Shelton Benjamin, & Kurt Angle. I don't really follow Kurt now that he wrestles for TNA, but when he was with the WWE he was my main man. I like people who had wrestling backgrounds before doing it professionally. People like Kurt and Shelton Benjamin can put on great, unique matches because of that. Randy Orton has all it takes to be the champ, he just needs to get himself together. I'm glad Edge is a main eventer now. He has a great combination of in-ring and mic skills. I'm glad that WWE realizes you don't have to be a bodybuilder to be "the man."

Back in the day when i watched it Y2J Chris Jericho was always my favourite.

He was the man 🙂

RVD! i love love love Rob VanDamn.. hes just so cute.. or OMGAH! :woot: Shawn Micheals.. Im pretty sure Mistress Aura would agree with that one.. (and i dont mean the waiter.. haha.. sorry inside joke)

my favorite of all time is Hulk Hogan. I grew up on Hulkamania and i will forever be a Hulkamaniac. It is amazing when i sit back and i realize how much of an impact Hogan had in my life. His "character" of Hulk Hogan taught me to always try hard, to always do the right thing, to never give up on anything. I will always be proud to say i am a Hulkamaniac and i will be one always....

My favorite wrestler of all time has to be Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, because he is, in my opinion what he always claimed to be: "The Best There Is, The Best There Was, and The Best There Ever Will Be."

Hands down, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. Was my favorite growing up, and still is.

Close 2nd, is Scott Hall and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Great responses! I actually have two favorites. One would be Hot Rod Roddy Piper. When he was on you never knew what was going to happen and he always made things interesting. As he says "I was rowdy before rowdy was cool!"

My other would be Ric Flair for personal reasons. I once met him by accident in a public place and he went out of his way to be nice and generous to a 'challenged' friend that most others would choose to ignore. This had nothing to do with wrestling, but showed me the true character of the "Real" World Champion. Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Hulk Hogan, Kurt Angle, The Rock, Scott Hall, The Macho Man, Ric flair.

Andre the giant, Mike awesome(RIP) Masato Tanaka, Ric flair in his first wwf stint(THATS NOT FAIR TO FLAIR!), bobby heenan, mr perfect, Masato Tanaka, Jushin Thunder Lyger, Great Muta, Tommy Dreamer, Tully Blanchard, and missing prob much more, other than andre, pretty much i enjoyed all of the rest for their superior wrestling skills

Number one for me will always be Ric Flair. Why? Because he truly is the total package. Great in the ring, great on the mic and a great promocutter. He was also the leader of the greatest stable wrestling have ever seen, The Four Horsemen!

Besides him I like the legitimately though guys, like the Funks, Harley Race, Kenta Kobashi, Stan Hansen, Greg Valentine, Arn Anderson, etc.

I also have a certain soft spot for the insane guys. You know, those who will do anything. Like Atsushi Onita, Nick Mondo, Lobo, etc. I know a lot of people loathe that sort of thing, but I think they deserve respect for what they are willing to do to entertain a crowd.

Ric Flair, because growing up, I emulated everything he did while in high school, therefore giving my nickname to be Nature Boy. The Four Horsemen was my favorite group, and I have a library of old NWA tapes I keep watching over and over

Triple H is another I like, because he reminds me of Flair back in the days

Sting before and after his crow look. He was well rounded, pounding, high flying, submissions and him and Lex Luger were one of the most underrated tag teams.

And he kicked Ric Flair's ass so many times haha.

From the WWE I'd pick Shawn Michaels and from ECW I'd pick RVD.

currently i love Edge 😀 (hot, good mic, good in ring), Benoit is amazing OMG...loved Eddie Guerrero (so sad he's gone now), CM Punk, Shelton Benjamin (those two plus Benoit i would say are the most athletic in the WWE at the moment)

Huh?

Wow! I would be ashamed to admit I knew any of their names.

Perhaps the next thread should also be about some topic that is equally revealing as to the lack of entertainment sophistication of the viewers. Maybe something like...which type of rollers did your mom invariably wear in her hair when the family would go to a fancy restaurant? Or here is a better one, which brand of mayo makes the best mayonnaise sandwiches? Or the real important one....what is your favorite flavor of Hot Pocket?

And we make fun of the entertainment in other countries??? Good lord...say it's a bad dream, please. Hail the USA! Smartest, classy-est, and most refined people on earth! Pass me the pork rinds

somebody piss in your cornflakes or deem you high grand poohbah of all entertainment???

wrestling (or at least the WWE's version of it) is like most sports it's mindless entertainment that takes people out of their daily drudgery of work, school, whatever and entertains them for a few hours, what's so bad about that??? it's no worse than football, or hockey or soccer or nascar or underwater basket weaving.

Did you even bother reading the first post?

"If you do not like pro wrestling, fine. Please post elsewhere."

Please note the original poster was not even from the USA.

Do us a favor and learn to read prior posts before making yourself look stupid again.

I thought the rant was discussing the issue of current marks in the wrestling world, as compared to the once revered smart marks(which permeated ecw) but if its a general wrestling bash\rant, then sod off
