Finally got the retail version when it was released yesterday.
I think it's great, but still feel Slim's best album is The Slim Shady LP.

My fave tracks are White America, Without Me, 'Till I Collapse and Sing For The Moment.

Anyone else got any thoughts on the album?

I happen to love Eminem. I haven't gotten his album yet but I will within the next few days.

I guess I like him because he's so controversial and outwardly angry. In short, one doesn't always have to agree with him or others like him, but at least he makes you think. I believe that if he had the combination of a college education he'd be leathal!

Ya gotta wonder...

😀

LOL Marshall?

I met Marshall Mathers when he was a dishwasher at a local eatery. He smarted off to my niece so I beat his arse into next week. He was a talentless punk then, he's a talentless punk now. Without Dre and Rob Ritchie (an INCREDIBLY nice guy) he'd be nothing.
Really LOVED the way he treated his ex wife.
Everlast has more talent on his worst day than Marshall will ever have.

Oh...

He doesn't write his own songs by the way. Some guy from Royal Oak does it. He gets a pretty good cut too. His first CD was so poorly written Dre had to rewrite most of it. Any opinions Marshall has aren't his own, because quite frankly, he's not that smart. He had a look that Dre liked. Dre helped him. Note without Dre being a day to day influence Marshalls latest CD really sucks.
(wishes he'd smart off to my niece again)

Tron, I agree. I think he is quite annoying. I don't know his past like you do but I have seen enough of his present to know he is a punk.😉

Well...whatever...
Lots of people don't do their own stuff. It really doesn't mean crap to me. I just like the performer. That's entertainment folks.

Pass the nuts.🙂

I don't mind the music, but I don't like him. All his stuff is about how bad he is, what a hardman he is, how you shouldn't mess with him etc etc...

I think it's interesting that everyone has there own perception on what they "hear" in music.

I on the one hand never take song lyrics litterally. I don't necessarily take it for granted that the performer of the song is also the writer. Even when the performer is also the writer, I don't necessarily assume that they are writing about themselves or their own personal experiences. I just think that they are making a general statement about life situations.

As far as rap and hiphop are concerned, I happen to enjoy listening to it but it's not all I listen to and I don't listen to ALL of it. There's a particular culture that's supports and spawns the hiphop community. I admit that it can be an existentialist culture, but it's a culture nonetheless.

Anyway, this is way more than I wanted to say, but I would hate to use the "backspace" button at this point in time without sharing what my feelings are on the matter as a whole not just Eminem.

I prefer The Whole Talent..

Otherwise why don't we all just listen to Brittney Spears? Thats the way I look at it. I do like some hip hop. Puffy makes me smile. I've always loved Dre. I just don't like those who get big off the work of others. And thats what Marshall did. Plus I'd love to beat his punk arse again 🙂 I'm not picking on your for your opinion of him. I'm just stating mine. Personally I believe the way the artist lives is as important as the artist. And Marshall at best is the village idiot.
Robbie is a hell of a guy. In fact he still hangs at a strip joint I frequent every now and then. Money certainly hasn't gotten to his head. I have met Pamela and found her to be quite cool. Robbie still drinks Bud and remembers those who were his friends before he was big. He rights his own music, lyrics and has the kickingest arse band around.
When it comes to Marshall I subscribe to the Ted Nugent theory of, in 10 years if he needs money maybe I'll let him open for me.
(By the way, Springsteen might be the only musician I've seen who is as ignorant as Marshall, but Springsteens music is at least palatable)

Be safe

Definitely don't think your picking on anyone but the performers. Opinions on these matters don't phase me but they are interesting though.

So back to the subject: What are the opinions of those that HAVE heard Eminem's new album?
