Hi, youse guys. Ever since the post by you about getting licences for paranormal investigation, I've been wondering if you've found anything out of the ordinary. I'd have PM'd you, but I figured I'm not the only one interested. Plenty of us would like to know if you've spotted anything "otherworldly". So, give us an update. Inquireing minds want to know. (I want to know how to spell "Inquireing")

And, a very happy 2nd anniversary!

It's "inquiring" darling and I'd love to hear more about this too. XOXO

PS~rue the day! :jester:
You KNEW that was coming, right?

Thank you, sweetheart! and, totally off my own topic, maybe I could get you some caviar, then you could roe the day!

*Screams and babbles incoherently*

Sometimes, I'm even too funny for me!

Love ya, babe! :cupid: :tickle: :feets:

:Kiss1:
Have you been watching the new Medium show hon? Also there's pretty cool real-life ghosthunters series that runs on Sci-fi channel! :bouncybou
XOXO

I LOVE afterlife haunting type stuff even if it does scare the bejesus out of me.... anyone know any cool websites? This would be a good thread for them.

Sorry! I saw this thread the other day, but didn't have time to reply right then. Somehow I totally forgot about it until now!

We're not licensed yet, though we are still working toward that goal. In the meantime, we have had a few unexplained experiences....both fatefully handed to us, and sought out by ourselves. I'll share a few here....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our first apartment together back in 2003 (the one that caught fire and forced us to relocate last summer) was undeniably haunted (luck considering our mutual interest?). We had multiple experiences there that confirmed our suspicions beyond any reasonable doubt. The house dated back to the late 1800's, and some years back was divided into two apartments....one lower, one upper. The inner staircase that at one time united both levels as one house had been borded up and sealed off, though it still remained intact behind the covering walls. All of the activity seemed to stem from this area.
1. My mother saw orbs several times near the location of the fireplace in the lower apt. Right behind the fireplace was the old boarded up stairwell. The orbs would fly out from the fireplace (which had not had a fire in it in over 10 years) and soar through the room before disappearing near the same location they originated from.
2. We often heard someone walk up and down the hallway of our upstairs apt, over and over, like they were pacing the floor (the hallway was immediately over the boarded up stairwell, and part of the stairs were still in use as our own inner stairs from our outside porch into our apt). Several times I thought it was Lazzy walking down the hallway to pay me a visit in the bathroom where I would be taking a bath, but when I'd call out to him, he'd be sitting in the living room watching tv or monkeying on the computer.
3. One night we set the video camera up to see if we could catch any activity on video. We trained the camera at the hallway and went to bed. Not too long afterward it began. While you can not hear the pacing footsteps down the hall on the video, you see a shadow passing the bathroom entrance (where the light was left on every night) over and over....always walking in the same direction. It casts a large dark shadow upon the entire stairwell wall each time it passes. That happens about 8-10 times throughout the course of the video. Twice you see orbs flying in the stairwell. And once something (not the cats...something unseen) brushes against the lens and slightly bumps the camera to the right and causes the lens to refocus.
While we despised our landlord, we were rather disappointed to leave a house so rich in activity. They are pretty rare.
Lazzy has a painting of his Grandmother, who passed away when he was a boy. He was very close to her before cancer took her out of our world, though, and he counts this painting among his most treasured belongings. The painting is very important to him for one more reason though, the other being it's habit of changing expression. It doesn't do it quite as often now that we moved out of the last apt in which we had so much activity, but it's not dormant. Many times we've glanced at the painting and noticed something wasn't right, and upon closer inspection noticed something in the expression has changed. We've seen the eyes cast in different directions, we've seen the color of the face change from muted ivory to a rather angered pink, and we've seen the smile change severity from a pleasant happy smile, to a firm set look of annoyance. The expression changes happen slowly and subtly....you'll never catch it in the act of actually changing....but that first time you notice it has a different look upon it's face from the last time you passed by scares the bejesus out of you. Two of our kids are rather frightened of the painting for this reason. We've had nights where we've literally had to take her down when they get especially bothered by her.
One we recently went and investigated ourselves was one of local lore. It's recorded in several local haunting and city history books of a woman who was hit and killed by a train on the tracks just off 72nd street here in our town, many years ago. She was searching for her two young sons who never came home for supper that night when she was hit, and legend has it she still haunts the area where she was killed, searching for her sons. We spent a good hour or two out there investigating the entire stretch of tracks and surrounding areas, and came up empty handed in terms of anything unusual....until we were just getting ready to call it quits and leave. For some reason, I was suddenly struck by the notion to bend down and feel the rail track itself where I was standing, perhaps 30 yards from the road. The track in that location, despite it being a cool day and despite the fact no trains had used this part of the track in at least a week, was hot to the touch. Walk down 10 feet in either direction and the track was cold to the touch. But that one spot where I was overcome by the need to feel the track remained hot. We have no idea why, and still can offer no explaination for it. If there is any truth to the lore, perhaps that is where she was struck down and killed by the train.
Do those satisfy your creepy vibes a bit for now, Twinks? I LOVE this stuff! 😀
Mimi
Wow, those are freaky Mimi. Gives me the chills. Can't say I've had any experience with that type of stuff but have always been facinated by really old buildings and houses although one sound or weird incident and I'd be outta there, lol.
Sandee
That was awesome, Mimi! Very good stuff. I'm glad you found a few things that were, oh, let's say, unusual. (Love the picture one)! Happy haunting...er...um...hunting!
Sorry! Don't mean to creep anyone out who is bothered by these sort of things. I get scared sometimes too, but my fascination with it all overrides any fear, usually.
Anyway, we like to document the different experiences we have through photos, tape recordings, and video recordings whenever possible. We have a good digital camcorder, but unfortunately my digital camera is not up to par. We did still use it to capture some pictures of our two most recent incidents, both of which I spoke about above.
Since some of you are clearly as intruigued about this sort of stuff as Lazzy and I, we thought perhaps we'd share some of our material with you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

These first two pictures were taken at the railroad tracks we went to investigate concerning the local folklore. We did not catch anything abnormal in the pictures....only physically felt the rather intense heat radiating from the tracks, and unfortunately there was no way for us to record that...though we did document the discovery on video. Anyhow, the first pic shows the track itself, and how far from the road we discovered the "hot spot". The second pic is an image of the exact section of track that was hot to the touch.

These next pictures of are the painting of Lazzy's Grandmother I spoke of above. We noticed her being particularly active one night with the facial expressions, so I grabbed the camera and snapped a series of pictures, hoping to catch a bit of the transformation in photos. We got lucky, and managed to snap two pictures back to back in which she slightly transforms her expression from one of being very happy, to slightly subdued.

The first picture is just a regular picture of the painting...nothing happening here. This is just so you can see what it looks like normally. (excuse the quality of these pictures...crappy camera, as I stated earlier in this post)

These next two pictures were taken right after one another, within 5 seconds of each other. No changes in light, position, or angle. Look closely and you'll see the change in her expression. Happy in the first, subdued in the second.

EDIT: Posting the two pictures one below one another does not allow you to see her expression changing. You must see the two pictures as a slide show to notice the difference, so I making an animated gif of the two images back to back. Will post them in a minute here....

Okay, made the animated gif. It's a big file though, so give it a minute to load!

As I said in an earlier post, it's never a huge in a short period of time. But this is the most dramatic change we've seen her make in the span of a few mere seconds. Witnessing it live really makes your hairs stand on end!

Mimi 🙂

Wow Mimi! I love this stuff! Very very cool. I know you guys already read about the strange happening at work where (what we believe to be) my coworkers deceased mother visiting. There is another moment that took place just last week in which she was sending an email to her brother and in the paragraph where she was mentioning something concerning the trial of her mother's accident where the computer suddenly had a black screen and the framed pic of her mom she keeps on her desk tipped over.

You guys might get a kick out of the Paulding Light that I had previously described that is in the UP. I think you would find it VERY interesting.
