Like many things done in the view of a shrieking, hysterical, puritanical media (the American media in other words), this incident was blown out of all proportion. Yes, Janet Jackson was pretty infantile baring her knocker on nation wide TV, but from the reaction of the media and various "public morality authorities" you'd have thought she'd just tried to legalise child porn.
