A lot of these new posts indirectly reference a little seen aspect of human behavior...the animal. We joke about this thing, and we'veseen it a million times in sitcoms and movies, but we never really take it seriously...probably becuse it would scare the shit out of everybody if we did:

Well...technically yes.
Keep in mind, the genes we have as a species are only about 80,000 years old. Given that all human communities tend to operate on the same fundamentals the world over, its indicative that these genes for empathy, procreation, survival, etc. were all with us before the African migration. Genes require HUGE amounts of stimulus to change, and in the 80,000 years since, the only changes have really been the physiological adaptations to environment (skin color, physique, receptors). MODERN humans have NOT BEEN AROUND LONG ENOUGH to change in genetic programming.
Women are the limiting sex...their programming focuses on mate selection based on resources and reciprocation; men of substance who possess mental attributes that qualify for children of good stock. Because men cannot mate without women, women can withold sexual contact at will.
Men, being the distributors or Johnny Appleseeds of genetic material, are drawn to women based on physical characteristics, i.e. a receptacle that is in good condition and design to carry the child. And seeing as how there are a LOT of good looking women almost anywhere you go...well, you can imagine why promiscuity seems to be first nature in men.
Now this is GENETIC programming, NOT relegated to higher brain functions. But everything we think of when we think about sex is BASED on these reproductive drives...the way men and women groom themselves and behave in public so that others will like them; it's more than just social needs, it's also reproductive. The entire reason people often go to war, even today, is to control resources to ensure the prosperity of one's country/group. And women can provide heirs that will replace dead/dying citizens, which is why women are often the target of violence in combat situations. When they say "women and children first!" they mean it because of the propietary "value" they possess.
So men DO need sex on a regular basis, and because they are the distributors rather than the breeders, they are attracted to the physical MORE THAN (not exclusively) the emotional. On top of that, the male brain functions with fewer and less intangible accessories than the female brain: the emotional messages that stimulate women provoke the fight-or-flight response in males, so the visual-oriented aspect of the male brain is probably tied to this.
We're still a young species. We don't like to think about this these days because it stands in the way of all the layers of sophisticated beliefs and theories we've thrown on top of them: "children of God" "Morally Aware," all of it doesn't change the fact that almost ALL of the MORAL, SPIRITUAL and ETHICAL safeguards we've put in place have a foundation in our genetic programming and were there the whole time...they just became less important in the wake of Agriculture, the method of collecting resources that changed the relationships between humans.
Culture, as I've said so often, is the ultimate enemy and reason for all this sexual fallout. Culture shapes the community behavior, and that in turn, shapes peoples the beliefs and imprinting of the people within it. Sigmund Freud was a total fraud but he DID make one valid discovery: that the human orgasm response can be conditioned by environment and experience. So, given the perverse levels that culture will go to to cover up the essential banality of the real world in favor of something more dramatic and appealing, it's no suprise that the sexual tastes in men have changed into something more unhealthy and destructive over the last few centuries. When combined with the psychological unfitness in many parents, it's not difficult to see why male aggression towards women has increased. And, considering the media's need to exploit human nature for the profit to cover its expensive programming...well, there's the gender conflict summation in a nutshell for ya.
I've never liked hanging out with guys; they were always too physical and aggressive. And I disliked hanging out with girls during puberty because they dropped platonic relationships for the mate selection process. I still dislike women to a large degree because of the irritating behavior that they are taught to exude in order to be "feminine." And I've NEVER liked guys who do the same in order to be "masculine." I remember what it was like before sexual politics came into play and I've seen that the dating world is nothing but a giant arena of man-made bullshit playing out.
And I'll tell ya what. People have told me that if I don't play the game that way I'll never get laid. Frankly, it's not worth it if I have to keep playing head games all the goddamn time because culture won't allow us to be direct. And I'm not surprised at all when I see headlines about violence towards women when our global culture treats sex like a virus and makes it virtually unavailable outside of a ceremonial sanction.
Women will always be seen sexually...they'll stop being seen as OBJECTS in the way they are when they're no longer a mystery to men. And women will no longer be (successful) golddiggers when they lose their heightened stylized vision of femininity. And I hate to sound like a broken record, but the only way that will happen is when we purge our culture, or kick it to the back seat in favor of reason.
