Okay all you NFLites....
heres what I propose....
I know they have one on ESPN but I want to do a little something here.
Sorry....Im football starved.

What Id like to do is get a few of us Football fans, Ill assign everyone a certain number of teams, and then we using our best knowledge do a mock draft here. Then we can comapre how we did against the real one.

So If I could get at least 4 people (we each pick for 8 teams), You could even ask for specific teams to draft for.
If we can get it togeather by Thursday and post our selections all day on Friday, off and on untill all 32 are picked.

COME ON!! ITS FUN!!!!

So let me know. Speak up here, or PM me. Hopefully I get enough responses by then to do the pecking order. At least 4, but more would be great.

LETS DO IT!!

Rob

OK so far we have 2. I had one member PM me, and they are in also. So far we have 3. One more will make 4, and the more the merrier. Ill keep taking on people until Thursday morning..then Ill post the picking order and then we can do it all day on Friday. Remember this will be like a real draft. You can contact other members about swapping picks, and you will make one pick then wait for your next pick.
All members that do not join in are encouraged to join in and comment on those who are particpating's picks. Please make ALL criticisms constructive and about the pick. Disagreements are fine, but remember....I gave everyone fair chance to play! 😎 😎

Rob

Well all, as much as I wanted to do this, I wont have the time Friday to keep up enough.
I know I know......sorry...I thought I would but I wont.

Instead, why dont we all just post our own Mock Drafts before Saturday's draft and then lets see how we do.

Ill post mine later tonight or tommrrow night.
I just wont have the time to keep up doing 1 after the other.

So just post your top 10, top 15 or heck all 32 1st rounders.

Lets see how we do.

Sorry, but we can still do something...

Rob

Ok, I think this is what you mean. So here goes (and yes, I had some help)

1 - Raiders - Calvin Johnson - WR - Georgia Tech
Mr. Davis has the draft by the balls and will make Tampa Bay pay
premium for
C.J. Expect to see a Manning/Rivers type deal done draft day.

2 - Detroit - Brady Quinn - QB - Notre Dame
Best QB in the draft, give Kitna another year leading this team before
throwing Quinn into the fire.

3 - Browns - Adrian Peterson - RB - Oklahoma
They have a solid run blocking o-line, a young QB, a former 'Cane stud
at TE
and Edwards at WR. He is the next logical piece to the Browns offense,
he
and Lewis will be a solid 1-2 punch.

4 - Bucs - JaMarcus Russell - QB - LSU
Along with Russell the Bucs cough up both there 2nd round picks to the
Oakland for CJ

5 - Cardinals - Joe Thomas - OT - Wisconsin
Leonard who?? the Cards have their Left Tackle for the next 10 seasons

6 - Skins - Alan Branch - DT - Michigan
The Tiki 200 is not forgotten in Washington, this big Tackle will fix
the
run defense.

7 - Vikings - Gaines Adams - DE - Clemson
They need someone who can get after the QB

8 - Falcons - Laron Landry - S - LSU
Some say he is the second coming of Ronnie Lott, niece piece to the
Atlanta
secondary

9 - Miami - Ted Ginn, Jr. - WR - Ohio State
A surprise pick here, the Dolphins lost a lot in the off season this
side of
the ball and with this pick they have an automatic deep threat.

10 - Texans - Levi Brown - OT - Penn State
They got their QB in the overrated Matt Shuab via trade so now they
have to
protect him. Brown is the logical pick.

1. Oakland - JaMarcus Russell, QB
2. Detroit - Calvin Johnson, WR
3. Cleveland - Brady Quinn, QB
4. Tampa - Gaines Adams, DE
5. Arizona - Joe Thomas, OT
6. Washington - Amobi Okoye, DT
7. Minnesota - Laron Landry, S
8. Atlanta - Jamaal Anderson, DE
9. Miami - Levi Brown, OT
10. Houston - Adrian Peterson, RB
11. San Fran - Adam Carriker, DE

15. Pittsburgh - Lawrence Timmons, LB
16. Green Bay - Greg Olsen, TE
17. Jacksonville - Jarvis Moss, DE
18. Cincinnati - Darrelle Revis, CB
19. Tennessee - Leon Hall, CB
20. New York Giants - Joe Staley, OT
21. Denver - Dwayne Bowe, WR
22. Dallas - Ted Ginn Jr., WR
23. Kansas City - Robert Meachem, WR
24. New England - Brandon Meriweather, S
25. New York Jets - Chris Houston, CB
26. Philadelphia - Michael Griffin, S
27. New Orleans - Paul Posluszny, LB
28. New England - Jon Beason, LB
29. Baltimore - Ben Grubbs, OG
30. San Diego - Dwayne Jarrett, WR
31. Chicago - Justin Harrell, DT
32. Indianapolis - Eric Wright, CB

4. Tampa - Gaines Adams, DE (Traded to Detroit)

6. Washington - Amobi Okoye, DT
7. Minnesota - Laron Landry, S
8. Atlanta - Adrian Peterson, RB
9. Miami - Jammal Anderson, DT
10. Houston - Levi Brown, OT
11. San Fran - Patrick Willis, LB

ENJOY THE DRAFT!! I WILL!!

I loved seeing Brady Quinn sit there...and sit there...and sit there...and sit there.

To save further embarrassment they moved him, simply awesome. I'm not saying the NFL gets it right everytime, and perhaps he'll become a pretty good quarterback, but here's the reason why i'm 'hating'.

NBC actually broke in from their NHL playoff coverage to announce when Brady Quinn was drafted. How embarrassing for them! They obviously planned some sort of huge announcement if he was to be drafted in the top 3, but it completely blew up in their faces, I loved it. As we all know, or most of us know NBC has the broadcast rights to all Notre Lame home football games. It's ludicrous that this deal exists, but overall it really hasn't given them the upper hand in recruiting like I had originally thought. Last year Michigan, USC and LSU exposed Notre Lame and Quinn for the frauds they really are. Quinn panicked when pressured, and just never played well in the big game. I kind of feel sorry for him because it's not his fault for the hype Notre Lame gets, but this is why I and so many others hate Notre Lame.

Again, he might become a really good QB, and if so Cleveland will look like a genius.

Another lesson that hype really is just hype.

I'm happy with the way it turned out. I like Brady and I think he'll be great. When people hate on a player or a team, it usually means there's something special about them. They probably broke into the game hoping to attract viewers.

Why would NBC break in with this news during their NHL playoff coverage so that people would turn the channel to ESPN to watch the draft?

Notre Dame is the most overrated team in the country every year. They haven't done anything in 20 years now, it's all about the almighty dollar that NBC has paid and they need ratings so they get Notre Dame in the Top 25. The other B.S. deal that Notre Dame has is that if they're in the top 12 in the BCS ratings they automatically go to a BCS game. With 5 BCS games that leaves 10 teams that go, wtf should they automatically go?

Even though i've always hated Notre Dame, at least when Lou Holtz was there they were entertaning, since he's left they haven't done a thing.

I'm not hating because they've done something special, but because they haven't.
