Why all the RN's?

Is it just me, or are there an unusually large amount of RN's who are into tickling? I guess it could be just a coincidence, but I seem to always be running into this situation.

Why is that do you think?

Anybody else notice this?

I have, too.

I was in college and required surgery on both feet (details unimportant). It was serious enough to require a couple days' hospitalization. My feet had to be elevated on pillows . . . they were heavily bandaged, but a good portion of my soles were exposed.

I had an attractive nurse that evening -- no roommate -- and later, when things got quiet, my nurse brought her attractive colleague We made small talk for a few minutes (I was pretty thrilled by the attention from these white-clad ladies), and then they sat down at the foot of my bed. ABSOLUTELY TRUE STORY.

One said, "We want to tickle your feet." I was dumbfounded. After finally managing to swallow, I said: "I have to admit that when a girl tickles my feet, I get excited." They looked at each other and began laughing. "Really? Then we'll have to tickle EXTRA good!"

The beautiful blonde tickled one foot and the beautiful redhead tickled the other. To their delight, I laughed like mad. The tickling didn't last more than a minute (maybe 90 seconds), but the memory has lasted a lifetime.

The next night, my nurse cared for me as though nothing had happened. But when the hospital began to quiet again, she asked: "Could we tickle your feet again tonight?" I was, again, stunned, and said: "I think I can take it." But by 11 or so, I was dozing. The nurses came in and said, "We feel bad about tickling you if you're too sleepy." I tried to wake up and convince them, but they apparently felt guilty about it. Damn.

Since then, I would guess that at least 7 nurses have asked if I am ticklish before examining any part of my body (and I'm sure my woman doctor enjoys tickling me, too. She has tickled my stomach, my feet, my sides and under my arms, all on separate occasions. I'd love to tickle her back, but frankly, I enjoy the vulnerability).

I think there's something to this medical tickling.

I'm an RN and never tickled anyone on purpose, but I was always amazed at how sensitive feet were when washing them, even really sick people who were barely responsive otherwise. There was always a little jerk when washing those toes especially. I did work with an RN who used to stand at the foot of the bed of guys in traction and tickle their feet. She would say it was our only way of torturing our patients, and I always used to wish those guys would give them a good knock with their casts.

I hate to come along and spoil this exceedingly weird party, but is that not patient abuse?

I think at one time or another we've all had a fantasy about being tickled by a hot nurse/doctor.

I spent a good amount of time in a hosp back in the 80's..leg in a splint and in traction.I had nurses tickling my feet CONSTANTLY...but only after the pain of surgury was gone..and they knew I wasn't objecting! Hell all my visitors were evil about it too! I mean who could resist tickling someone they knew was very ticklish in a vulnerable position as having there bare foot stuck hanging there within arms reach all the time? I think all nurses have tickled patients from time to time.Who can blame them?Constant access of barefeet 24/7!...I mean as long as the person isnt in pain and they dont seem to mind...have at it!

I personally think I would have said "Okay, but I get to tickle you afterwards" lol.. 😛

I have never noticed... my best female friend was training to be an RN before she switched to studing to be a pharmacist. Of course I complained bc I like nurses but oh well.. She's not into tickling but she loves me so she lets me tickle her anyways....

but, I hope to one day find out that this RN thing is true.. lol.. 😛

Interesting, very interesting. That sure is different. I have never noticed this co-relation but wow guess it must be true. Yeah while the tickling sounds interesting and neat: surprised those rns did not get into trouble, that is not being professional and clinical-that is getting really personal -whether the patient would not object or would object to having one's feet tickled or being tickled. I am sorry not trying to rain on this thread hope you know that; but in actuality-that kind of rn conduct would really be looked down upon and discouraged-risk getting in trouble or offending the patient just = trouble.
Yet I can understand what you are saying-we each have our own fantasies and things that make our motors rev-so to speak. I am sure there have been many like you said that have had doctor/nurse tickling fantasies, only the person being tickled or doing the tickling is a hottie. So no harm done just thought I would point that out, but other than this-a great thread.

Maybe there is a large number of RN's into tickling because tickling is all about control issues.
The ticklee immediately loses control of his/her body.
Maybe, RN's also like to tickle, since a brief tickle can relax the ticklee.

In the first moments of tickling, our laughter reduces our anxiety but after prolonged tickling our laughter produces more anxiety.

I associate big buttons with tickling, so some of my favourite fantasies involve RN's in white safari styled uniforms with big white buttons down the front and big white buttons on all the pockets. I'm usually tickled to the brink of insanity for my own good. Or so the RN says.

Yes, I am a nurse and yes i like tickling... but never patients. That is beyond the pale. At home, at parties, bars and beach... YES I love a guy to tickle me, and of course i tickle back, or first 😉

Well I am glad and relieved to hear that you do not tickle patients. That is good to hear, that would not be very professional and that would not ethical. So that is good to hear lol. Yeah tickling is great and it is a lot of fun to enjoy and participate in. Yeah it is a win, win. Interesting that is neat that you are a nurse. That is cool. Yeah I bet you have a great time tickling your lees and playfully having a guy at your tickle mercy Lea28. Happy tickles to you and have a great day. I wish I could meet some of these 'ler nurses. It would almost be worth being in traction. I can't even get a girl to go near my feet(of course I guess can't blame them. I have to admit even though my feet are ticklish, they're also pretty ugly)

As a doc - I have not yet encountered a nurse into tickling. I've had a few nurses flirt with me, and vice versa, but if there are as many as alleged above, then I need to be more observant. I'm sure that any such nurse would jump at the opportunity to tickle a doctor.

That said, I work on the regular wards, occasionally intensive care, but I've always had a proclivity towards ER nurses; they seem to hover on the freaky side. From my experience in the ER during training, I would expect nothing less...
