Why Can't I Erase My Own Threads Anymore?

I tried yesterday to erase a thread I had created but I was not allowed to for some reason. I used to be able to in the past. Has the deleting posts policy changed?

Users are not allowed to erase threads they start. This was done because some users would erase threads where others had spent a good amont of time composing thier answer posts. It was unfair to the later posters, so we made it so only mods can remove a thread.
