I mourn Michael Jackson because he was a fantastic artist, arguably the most influential musican of all time, He did some fantastic things with his life.

The guy was a victim of neglect as a child and wasnt raised with the childhood that we NEED to give us a good start in life, im not suprised he spent so many years of his life trying to relive what he didnt do as a child. Personally I feel its very easy to make alergations against a man in that situation, especially a rich one.

but regardless, What he may/may not have done, isnt what im going to choose to remember him by.

okay, I'm not an export one MJ's trials, but I believe he was only accused of Child molestation twice.. the first one went to trial and he was found innocent.. the second time he paid the money before going to trial. But even though he paid before going to trial that doesn't make him guilty. Trial can be difficult sometimes and wanting something to end doesn't mean he's guilty. He wanted to be out of the spotlight and while going through trial he'll be in the limelight, that could be why he paid to hurry up and get it over with.

What's this? Hey now, just because I sleep in a bed with children, and I surround myself with children, and the kid who accused me of molestation can accurately draw a picture of a birthmark...on my penis...that doesn't mean I'm a child molester.

Thank you. I ducked out of this thread for a few days because it was burning me out. Looks like we won't be imploding any more threads I see....

Was MJ fucking weird? Yes, and it probably is largely because any "normality" he could've had went out the window as early as age 11. This is a guy who basically went through puberty pubically, and I'm sure that and the intense spotlight at such a young age would have had at least some consequences on his later life.

There are only a handful of child stars that successfully transitioned into adulthood. Most of them have a ton of problems because they never learned to be children and suddenly are supposed to behave like adults.

Did MJ act/behave inappropriately around children? Well, from what we have seen in interviews (that one particular interview especially), it would be in my opinion and my opinion only that he did act inappropriately. Kids in his bed? Let's not kid ourselves, MJ's morals were a little out of whack.

To say he blew it would be the understatement of the last several decades! What's even worse is that his family knew and did nothing but push him to crank out albums/CDs, concerts, and videos. If my adult child was behaving like this, I would've forced him into treatment! I've said several times before, there's plenty of blame to go around.

However, does this make him a pedophille? No, just like somebody who eyes off a chocolate cake isn't a chocolate cake eater until it's in his goddamn mouth. He might lick his lips furiously, and froth copiously at mouth, but until the deed is done, and in MJ's case, it's proven, then he can't be considered it.

Hope I never make a public mistake around here; just an accusation (no proof, no acquittal) is enough to ruin my reputation?

Obviously child molestation is a sensitive subject, and it's magnified with MJ because he was so famous.

And a man of that status:

....probably should've been a much better role model.

...but didn't end up being much of a role model at all.

He did so many things for children's causes and none of that gets recognized; just an accusation that followed him for the rest of his life. But to his credit, he kept working and kept out of the public eye as much as he could. If he would've gotten the help he needed, this thread wouldn't exist.

Point taken. Ray, I'm not a prosecutor, and I never conducted a CSI-style search of Neverland Ranch, so the chance of me being able to present some piece of evidence that the prosecutors missed is pretty slim...

But how about the fact that the first kid was able to describe what a birthmark on Michael's penis looked like? That's pretty damning evidence, no?

Mourning Jacko is not a requirement. If you feel that he was a pedophile, hate his music or don't like him for whatever reason you have the right to change the channel whenever there's a tribute to him or to express your feelings. However if people now are mourning his death (and they are), they have the right to express their feelings as well. Sometimes a public figure is deitized when he dies and after a number of years passes people begin to feel differently about him so who knows what the future will bring.

I was never a fan of his music, nor old enough to see how it all played out, but I read the history, and as a person, yeah, k, as an artist, performer, and what he did for the generation of his time as far as entertainment, he is amazing.

I'm not one to mourn, but his death was a shock to me, and quite tragic.

Some folks simply just can't deal with the realities; they're just going with whatever they can scrape up whether it's been proven true or not.

Bottom line, he was NEVER convicted of any crime. The fact that he paid the family damages is NOT an admission of guilt unless he admitted that he was guilty.......now pull that up in a quote and I'll shut up and concede.......good luck with that one!

We're talking about the records here...I don't know exactly why they opted for a civil trial instead of a criminal one...except that the burden of proof isn't as strict as in criminal court (which is how Nicole Brown Simpson's family finally got some satisfaction). Not to mention that pedophiles have a sickness that they cannot stop..they ALWAYS act on impulse . They continue the acts of molesting children all their lives even if they go to prison. Once released they commit the repulsive acts again and again.

If MJ were a pedophile there would have been a lot more than 2 complaints (made by people who were only after money) and there would have been mountains of evidence against him....

Unless of course he paid off hundreds of others to keep them quiet, but then again we would have heard about that as well...

So no, John there is no evidence...again, you are welcome to your opinion but it is not based on anything that you can back it up with.....so it pretty much falls apart under minimal scrutiny....
