Actually, we have a dog and a cat and they're best buddies. I've never seen either of them give the "finger"...do animals even have fingers??...but the dog did throw up on the cat once while it was sleeping. (The cat was sleeping, not the dog, of course.) Otherwise, the dog would have choked on her own vomit. Which leads to an interesting point:
You often hear of people choking on their own vomit. That's a goofy thing to say. Would they ever choke on someone ELSE'S vomit??😕

Cats do indeed have digits. The cat in the pic is more than likely declawed...and depending on how long the middle bone of the digit is, the picture may not have been manipulated. Not all toes are equal in length...That picture must have made the rounds by now. I got it via email a year ago. About sums up the universal feline attitude: f**k you.
Regarding "vomitus": You don't want to know what some animals will "choke" on.

Alex, I agree with you on that declawing seems so cruel! I don't know much about cat's but I never understood why people did that do them😕

Actually, I've had over a dozen dogs through the years, mostly German Shepherds, a breed I'm very partial to because of their bravery, loyalty and intelligence. About 15 years ago I changed careers and got a divorce. My new career had me responding to "hot spots" all over the state on no notice at all. At that time I had a dog I'd taken in when his owners got divorced. Too nice an animal to go to the pound. When I got the new job I didn't have anyone to watch over the dog so I gave him away to a lady who put him out to stud. That dog loved me so much he damn near knocked me on nmy ass as he ran right over me to launch himself into her car to meet his new... er... wife.
I got cats because as long as I leave 'em a clean litter box, food and water they can take care of themselves. One of my cats (the male) is very intelligent and affectionate. He loves to follow me from room to room just like a dog. The other cat (female) is more reserved as a rule. (Typical of my luck with women!)

And on a side note, since some people took objection to the declawing issue, here's my two cents. Declawing is a brutal surgery. No holds barred. It's illegal in some countries. But the truth is, the number one reason for euthanasia of a pet in THIS country is behavior issues. So...if it means keeping kitty alive and hopefully in his happy home, I sleep better at night knowing at least I did it as humanely as possible and gave the poor thing enough pain medication that he won't feel his feet, let alone know that he's missing his toes...enough said.
