Why is it not ok for a man to hit a women?

We can post in a circle, perpetually - ad infinitum; with both sides having a winning argument.

Perhaps, we should look at violence more broadly!

Don't you think you'd feel like a little bit of a douche if the lady "hitting for show" happens to duff you one that feels like gettin' hit by paper & then you return w/ a straight out fist'cuff back?

If a woman hits me, and I know it has no effect on me, then I wont hit back, but if the contact made does pose a danger, and it was unprovoked, then yeah, I am goin for the KO..Mom aint raised no punching bag

I will put my hands on anyone that physically attacks myself or a loved one of mine, regardless of their gender. I've seen too many people get away with beating the hell out of a guy because, if he touched her, then he'd have this horrendous social stigma looming over him. Now, if she hit me I'd be less inclined to hit her back (she'd really have to be coming at me without an intention of stopping), but if a woman ever laid a hand on anyone I cared about, I'd KO her ass in a heartbeat.

There are also smaller men out there that have been abused by their female spouses. Some bigger men, as well. There was a guy that went to my University that had that happen. She took to hitting him repeatedly with a frying pan, but regardless of what anyone told him he refused to defend himself. Finally, one day, he called the police- when they showed up she immediately ran outside screaming that he was abusing her, and HE went to jail.

That's royally fucked up.

Man I'm sure glad I'm not dating some of you......we'd be in "it" big time.

Per my unfortunate experience, men have beaten women as a way to assert their idea of dominance and control. I've gone through this with a domineering father and stepfather. If that wasn't enough, a series of shitty boyfriends with the same propensity for violence towards women entered my path.

When I had enough of being the punching bag, I fought back and fought back hard with a fury. I fought with anything I could get my hands on and my objective was to break a piece of anatomy--simply put, I wasn't playing around with "you."

To this day, fellas only get one chance with me; if he touches me and I didn't like how it felt, we were getting down in a major way. Then it's not about "I'm sorry." "I didn't mean it.", or any of the other excuses that'll land a woman in the hospital jail or morgue. We are done, plain and simple. He can find another woman to do that to......I ain't the one!

And yes, I know there are some crazy chicks out here who are like human pit bulls. They don't deserve any man in their lives and if they hit the wrong one, deserve EVERYTHING coming to them IMO!

I have a co-worker that went through the same thing. I told him to leave her immediately. I know he won't though. Sigh

I've recently been reading a comic somebody posted on youtube, and it got me thinkging about a question thats been buzzing around my head for some time. It's ok for a man to hit a man, and its ok for a girl to hit a girl, and its ok for a girl to hit a man, but it's not ok for a guy to hit a girl. In fact, it's not just ok. If a guy hits a girl, 10,000 pregnant ladies somewhere miscarriage and a building blows up. It's apparently the worst thing a guy can do in the world. Hitler doesn't have anything on a guy who hits a girl.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think anybody should beat up anybody, but there seems to be this double standard that exists. On one hand, I can understand it. If i was to beat up a 125lbs guy, that would be pretty bad. However, if i was to beat up a 125lbs girl, apparently that would be so much worse. So, I guess i'm wondering, should the "girls are weak and pathetic and unable to protect themselves" mentality still exist, or are we ready to move beyond that as a society?

A grown man can hurt or even kill an average sized woman with his bare hands. Give a woman a knife or gun and it will even up the odds.....but most men just have too much upper body strength. My little sister has a temper long as day and could handle most women in a fight.....but her 5'8"-135 lb warehouseman ex- husband beat her black and blue. Sis tried to fight back, but his fists did damage and her slaps, clawing fingernails, and kicks did not.

I'm not saying some women can put a smackdown on some men.....but in most cases (where the lady isn't unusually large/ strong or has martial arts training), 95% of the time, a man will hurt her badly. Men have no business putting their hands on a woman in anger to begin with. I've never done it and don't tolerate men who do.

If I was attacked by a woman, no matter her size I would try to subdue her however possible. If that meant I had to hit her, so be it. Shes attacking you remember. I would try not to hurt her though, I still think its wrong to hit a woman unless attacked first.
