Why people find it to be weird?

If by people you mean vanillas, its simply because its not "the norm." its normal to us the same way boobs and ass are to vanillas. But from an outsiders perspective its a bit odd.
 
People flog, burn, piss and shit on each other and shove electric stimulus rods into each others genitalia. In the world of fet, I think tickling is the least weird thing I've heard of.
 
To most or all of the forum it isn't weird. But to a lot of the general public, it is weird.
Yet tieing up and having sex is a norm, with high fives from all your mates
 
I could not agree more with TripleH1. As far as kinks are concerned tickling is so very tame!!! Even when you add bondage...... What can come off weird is the approach, but I think as long as you have a good amount of rapport with someone you tickle 9/10 the vanilla won't find it weird.
 
I think that some of the 'weirdness' associated with our fetish is that people tend to associate tickling games with very young children. So, I think that we are afraid of being seen as weird adults with a childish hang up.
 
In my experience, it's not the fetish people find weird... it's the fetishist. A lot of us are pretty fucked up people, that just happen to have a tickling fetish.

mustang, I have to say as my husband was reading this thread allowed, I think you might have hit the nail on the head with that one... I could expand my thought on that but I'm not sure a conversation in that direction would be appropriate... but yes, I think you're correct here...
 
In my experience, a surprisingly small number of people actually find it weird, and those that do tend find 'kinks' weird, in general. Many actually think it's cute. People like to be choked, spanked, abused, or any other number of things that make them blow a gasket. In the grand scheme of things, it's pretty tame.
 
I really don't think most people think it's "weird." It depends on what you mean by that. I certainly don't think most people would find it shocking or anything, and no one I have ever talked to about it does. They all seem to view it in the same category as spanking. Kinky, and probably not everyone's cup of tea, but understandable and not "weird."

"Weird" is a person who can only get off by having public sex with trees. Or any other fetish that removes the possibility of enjoying intimacy with another human. Tickling has existed since humans have, and one of the reasons it exists is to help bond two people together. Seems pretty fitting that it could work its way into sexuality, if you ask me.
 
I've told a handful of vanilla people and none of 'em found it weird or seemed all that repulsed. All of 'em thought it was kinda funny / interesting / cute / etc.
 
A lot of people can't imagine that there are people who like to be tickled. It's weird to them you would want something to be done to you that's torture to them. But honestly I haven't met anybody who thought it was weird. They just didn't want it to be done to them! 🙂
 
Its a common human behavior. The things you are into are strange; but the things I am into are not.

Perhaps in prehistory, it kept one from stumbling onto cannibals and partying with them until the dinner bell rang.
 
It's human nature unfortunately. In school you are either in the group, or you are not because you are different. Therefore this makes you strange.
The same applies for things like tickling fetishes, most people would never admit it because it isn't usual, and anything unusual is not permitted by the modern world. The way they carry on, porn is acceptable and you must love boobs and only boobs.

If you have a tickling fetish watch out, it's not mainstream enough and therefore will never be allowed by the state to become commonplace, and it will be continually frowned upon by mainstream media. This is also because it is not a money spinner for the mainstream groups and therefore they are not interested.
 
I'm not judging anybody's particular fetish but let me just say i love my husband's love of feet and tickling but can't imagine if he was into something hardcore like bloodplay, choking, fireplay or whatever!!
 
It is weird. LOL But in comparison to other things/ kinks, etc... it may seem mild to some.

There are others who think tickling is extreme and pretty scary. I remember telling a coworker that I accidentally injured my husband because he was tickling me, and she was MAD! She told me how absolutely horrible tickling was and how I should set ground rules. She told me some other stories too. When I just laughed and said I love it when he tickled me, she didn't talk to me for a week!
