Why won't Metallica Tour Downunder?

Alright, so this is bothering my mate more than it is me, because I've already been blessed with seeing Metallica perform in '04, but he's wondering why they won't come here and tour.

It'll be six years next year since they've toured here in Australia, and there's been one album cycle. They are going back to do parts of Europe again, maybe for third, or forth times since their "Death Magnetic" tour started only a year and a bit ago.

So, why won't the greatest bloody band, Metallica, come back here and blow us all away?

Btw, I've decided I hate referring to my country as "Downunder". I might as well also catch the Kangaroo Shuttle to the supermarket to pick up Koala food for my pet Dingo......that coincidentally also just happened to steal my baby.

I did some Googling and it seems (seems) that either Metallica doesn't have enough fans in Australia to make it worth their while (which I find crap and very hard to believe), or it comes down to the difference in currency and the promoters don't want to spend any more than they have to.

Maybe for the same reason we don't see AC/DC very often in these parts? Albeit, I think they're touring around Canada now....

I saw Metallica once for their "Master of Puppets" tour... awesome show... not sure what kind of show they put on now.
