Should be some great football this weekend. The Sunday games look like the best of the bunch, but the Saturday games look interesting too.

Oakland at Houston: The Raiders defensive backs should feast on the turnover machine that is Brock Osweiler, and I doubt Weeden will fare much better. Connor Cook handles the pressure of starting a playoff game, and the Raiders come out of Houston with a 24-14 win.

Detroit at Seattle: Hard to bet against Seattle in CenturyLink with that raucous crowd, but the Seahawks can be beaten at home. If the Lions can generate a pass rush it will be a long day for Russell Wilson, and without Earl Thomas in the defensive backfield the Hawks are susceptible to the long ball. Stafford throws a TD and Zenner has a big day with 100 plus yards and two scores. Detroit pulls off an upset win 27-13.

I'll post my Sunday picks later.

I got Houston, Seattle, Pittsburgh, and Green Bay

Houston: They got a gift with Oakland losing Derek Carr. That's basically it since Houston isn't really that good, eventhough their defense has played well without JJ Watt. This is Osweilers chance to redeem himself, but Houstons defense will pound Connor Cook, and be the main reason why they win.

Seattle: They're at home where they very rarely lose, and Detroit has struggled away & outdoors this season.

Pittsburgh: At home with a high powered offense clicking on all cylinders, I see them taking care of business against a Miami team that shows promise, but has a backup QB. Even if they had their starter, I'd have the same pick.

Green Bay: No team is on a bigger roll than them. After they lost to my Redskins, Rogers said that were gonna run the table. And they did. I think the hot streak continues, despite New York having a solid defense.

I have Houston over Oakland. Oakland is just too banged up. Down to their 3rd string quarterback I think even their receivers are banged up too. Just too much too overcome.

I have Green Bay over New York. This is a close one but I think Rodgers is hot. Even hotter then Brady right now. Hard to go against the Pack the way they are playing.

I have Seattle over Detroit. Seattle almost never loses at home. Wilson has a lot of playoff experience. Detroit has not one a road playoff game since 1957. Thats before I was even born LOL

I have Pittsburgh over Miami. Pittsburgh is on a roll I think. They have the 3 B's all healthy (Ben, Bell, and Brown) I dont think Miami has the firepower this time around.

I'll admit to going out on a limb with those picks. We'll see what happens. We all agree on the Packers and Steelers though. I think the GB-NY game will be a classic. Playoff football in January at Lambeau, probably the most iconic stadium in professional football, it doesn't get much better.

Well, the first two games already happened (luckily my Seahawks won 🙂 ). For tomorrow's games I'm taking the Giants over the Packers, as good as Green Bay has been recently, I think the Giants have what it takes to beat them. For the other game, Steelers will have an easy win over the Dolphins, despite the game between them earlier this season. Steelers are too good right now, and even though the Dolphins have been ok without Tannehill, it won't continue.

I agree, great football this weekend.

Bugman -- clearly, your predictions for today's football were incorrect. I salute you for going out on a limb -- you are braver than I. For what it's worth, my predictions weren't any better (other than my admittedly biased prediction for a Seahawks win).

I couldn't possibly agree more with your observation that tomorrow's GB-NY game is the game to watch. Two hungry teams, in an iconic stadium, in January -- this is football at its purest.

Yeah, so much for picking the underdogs. Congratulations to the Seahawks on a great win. Coming out of Atlanta with a win will be considerably tougher.

I'd like to see Miami knock the Steelers out, but it probably won't happen. The triumvirate of Roethlisberger, Bell and Brown will be too much for the Dolphins defense.

At the end of the day I'll know who will visit Arrowhead to face my Chiefs next week. Go Chiefs! 😀

I agree. I have no rooting interest in this game but I plan to watch it for the reasons you just described

After watching Pittsburgh soundly thrash Miami, the Chiefs will need all hands on deck when the Steelers come calling next Sunday. Fortunately Justin Houston will be ready to go, and here's something to ponder: Andy Reid is 19-2 coming off a bye week.

I ended up splitting the weekend games. lost a crapload of money on the Giants. :sowrong:

Went 4/4 on Wildcard Weekend 🙂

3 of the outcomes I don't think really should've shocked that many people. The last one, Giants/Green Bay was the one that could've gone either way.

I'll be interested to see who everyone picks for next weekend.

Not a great weekend of football. At least my Steelers won big.

I don't follow football at all, but I couldn't fail to notice all the whining crybabies around here after one of the local teams got pounded by the Packers.

I have to agree, disappointing games across the board. Blowouts are not much fun to watch unless your team is on top. The horrendous officiating didn't help matters. Hopefully the divisional games will be more interesting.

If you were on Wisconsin, you would have seen a lot of happy people exchanging high fives. :excited::numberone::woot::boogie::flex:

Looking at the divisional round, the only game I see getting out of hand is Houston at New England. I could be wrong, but Houston got shutout by New England when they were on their 3rd String QB. And let's face it, they're only here now because Oakland lost David Carr. And even with that, The Raiders weren't exactly blown out. That game was actually the closest of the 4.

Exactly. Out of all the games coming this weekend this is likely the easiest to call. New England I think wins this fairly easily.

Oh, I know. Maybe it seemed like more of a beat down than it was, to me at least. Just saw a report that Oakland OC Musgraves is out. He wasn't fired but they won't renew his contract. Seems strange after the season they had.

Anyway, on to next weekend. 😀

I'm trying to figure out what game to put some money on this weekend. Anyone have any suggestions?

Yes, and allegedly that same team took out their frustrations on their poor defenseless 767 on the flight back to Newark. Bad enough that people nowdays are attacking crews and fellow passengers and at a record pace, now the aircraft themselves are targets.

So far in the playoffs all the other visiting teams have lost too, but I haven't seen any more reports of the sore losers destroying their planes. Nevertheless, maybe it's high time [bad pun, in a couple of ways] for the NFL to articulate a new policy against Domestic Carrier Abuse.
