Will a tickling RPG still attract interest?

Not surprising, sometimes I can hardly understand myself in you're barbaric language. 😉
Barbaric in the ancient Roman sense of course.

Well, I wouldn't be a very good ler, so I would have to be a lee....if I joined....a very reluctant lee that is....who will fight back with tooth and nail >.>

Careful, that's exactly the kind of statement that will invite a merciless barrage of tickles from lers.

Relent and Beiseker both made lots of good points. Looks like different roleplayers have different ideas on how GMing works and what the GM's responsibilities are. For me (and I am in no way trying to convince others that my way is right), the GM plays the RP just like the other players, but with the ability to try moving things forward via the antagonist's actions if things slow down too much. It can also be done with NPCs created on the spot. When everything is progressing just fine, the GM resumes playing as his/her character like everyone else. I said the antagonist should be the GM's role because that is the character who creates problems for the heroes to face, thus driving the plot forward. It is also possible for the GM to play as one of the good guys and add some evil NPCs when necessary, but doing so might lead to shining the spotlight solely on the GM's character.

Personally I think the GM should never dictate what the other players do. As long as their actions don't cause any harm to the plot (for example, destroying the villain's doomsday weapon too early), insult another player or just look out of place in the setting, the participants in a RP should be able to do whatever they feel like doing. The antagonist or his/her henchmen may nudge them in a direction the GM wants them to go when nothing is happening, but the players must have the option to avoid dealing with the antagonist if they prefer to do something else. Of course, if someone wants to face that villain head-on according to the situation laid out by the GM, it's fine too.

Yeah I've always wanted a themed tickle RP myself. Especially with some fantasy aspects but some people get too carried away with the fantasy and make some ridiculous character. Like the guy who makes the vampire elf warlock prince of whatever who's also half demon and has a giant sword, mind reading and teleportation. That just get's ridiculous.
As far as the antagonist or protagonist thing goes ; I'd be glad to be a ler or a lee. Where ever I would be needed is fine since it's fun to do both. I like the idea of sadistic tickling from both perspectives. And you could always have a turn the tables type things where a ler could end up being tricked into becoming the lee affter torturing his victim, like a revenge scenario.

IF you guys really want an RP, I can start working on one. Been writing some stuff for a story I intended to post, as well as rules if it were ever to be used in the RP setting. This topic is getting enough attention that I may just start finishing the details up and start working on the overall story. I can DM/GM, and I'd be happy to discuss exactly what everyone wants with it to further modify it's settings to fit everyone's tastes. As best as I realistically can, at least.

Nice to hear that. This topic is really starting to make an impact.

And what an unexpected impact it is. There's some in-depth analysis of roleplaying methods here that anyone who wants to start his/her own RP should pay attention to. We still have not covered other topics like "Is a RP's setting important to its chances of success?" and "How much (non-fetish related) danger and adventure should there be in a RP driven by a fetish?"

Personally, I think it is almost REQUIRED to have some level of danger and adventure involved. Fetish based RP is fun and great, but if it focuses on it too much, it will begin to get repetitive. It's a delicate balance to keep the fetish stuff happening and active, but not letting it become TOO active to make it boring.

And RP setting is only as important as the people that wish to partake. Some people work better in modern times and some better in a fantasy setting, etc. I guess most people are drawn to the fantasy setting more than others, so that is where I tend to lean.

I agree with the above post; an adventure aspect would help to add variety. Great idea though, I'm interested to see how this works out.

I'd very much like to see a successful tickle themed rp get created. I know this has been said ten times over by other members but hey, it's a good idea! Sign me up where applicable heheh 🙂

I realize I've jumped into this conversation a little on the late side (and I've only read MOST of the first page of posts, so please forgive me if I'm about to restate something that has already been covered) but, I've seen a lot of debate on who and how to play a good antagonist and I just want to throw in that if there are enough characters and the story is big enough (aside from NPC baddies) conflict will naturally generate between characters with different goals just through differences in their natures.

For example, pardon my use of jargon here (I'm about to show my true "nerd" colors):
a "Lawful-Good" character and a "Chaotic-Neutral" character with the same goal will go about reaching it in different ways (and clash while doing so, especially if they aren't in the same party)
Also just by the varying natures of different character, conflicting goals are just as likely as everyone having the same goal, so that should add some spice too. A character (or a player) doesn't have to think it is evil to be a good antagonist (the best ones generally don't). It just has to want something that doesn't gel with your endgame.

PS. I'm interested in joining any existing or new RP that I can figure out a character for.

i wonder if i can play a villain.although i rp often(in other kind of groups) i wonder if my rping skill will work .ill give it a go,hope to see some of you soon 🙂
