Will AI eventually bore us?

I wonder if the incredible conveniences offered by AI will simply bore us, by giving us everything we want to see, and ultimately cure our obsessions? The Seedance 2 model is so advanced—and so moderately censored—that it's truly astounding. So much so that I almost feel disgusted. A bit like when you've eaten too much plain flan. I think that within a year, we'll be able to do whatever we want. But as a result, with abundance replacing scarcity, I fear that we'll quickly become indifferent.

After spending decades searching for those elusive videos that suit my preferences and finding very few, it is amazing to create whatever I want exactly as I want it. I have created over 1K videos with Grok and not bored yet. I live for the day when we can put on a VR headset and walk into whatever fantasy we want.

Bore us, destroy us, cause mass unemployment, crash the stock market, who really knows? There are so many predictions and theories that its really up in the air.

With technology though, humanity never seems to be satisfied. They always want more, more, more and push harder and harder. Once we fully have the capability to create darn near everything with AI, we will use the technology or evolving technology for other means. I assume at some point AI combined with VR will become a thing. The porn industry will really take off then. AI may also destroy our brains, but whatever. Hopefully I'm deceased by then. I feel bad for my kids, but whatever.

It seems that every time it starts to get boring the next "thing" comes down the pipeline and its all new again. i started three years ago with Bing, when any mention of tickling or stocks or bondage of any kind would result in no image being generated, and 19 out of 20 image tries resulted in feet with 6 toes no matter how you prompted it. then came ideogram which wasnt great but was much more fetish friendly and would allow the "T" word all day long along with some bondage scenarios and it was like holy crap! then came nano-banana 2 and its super accurate and fetish friendly depiction of stocks , tickling and dead on celebrity likenesses. and just when i got used to that, then video generation via hailuo and kling a.i. was a game changer, but still had issues. you could eventually get very good tickling but had to be creative with prompts, but no audio or very unrealistic audio with these. and now having moved to grok for most of my video generation, im blown away at how it "gets" tickling, and the movements and reactions are much more realstic, coupled with being able to add very realistic laughter and dialog at the same time , which was a huge step up. i suppose the next thing will be the V.R. component, but before that we will see longer video times, improved dialog, better character adhesion through multiple scenes and stuff like that. Will it eventually become boring ? For certain, but not today!

And now Grok has fucked us. As of last night I am only able to generate a few videos before I hit the rate limit despite being on the $30/mo paid plan. Apparently it takes a full 24 hrs to reset. I tried this morning and still locked out. I have cancelled my Grok subscription. Too much frustrating moderation anyways. Based on your post would you recommend nano banana and how much does it cost?

Never mind. Nano banana only gives you 1200 credits with the medium plan and it sounds like it takes up to 30 credits to create one 5 sec video. That is only 40 videos per month or a little over 1 per day. No thanks. Plus I just tried to generate a video based off a text prompt and it wouldn't do it crying about moderation just like Grok does. Back to square one.

That and all the water and resources these AI data centers are using up. We're not f***ed now, but we will be in the next 10 to 20 years. Sucks for anyone living in remote areas of Texas or around the Colorado River. Maybe consider moving if I were you.

I think if your interests are specific, then ai can generate stuff to your tastes. I'm a sadist who like middle age women. hard to find content intense enough that use that age group. so...

Like any art medium, I think it'll depend on the creator. Everyone can write sentences, everyone can draw lines, everyone can write AI prompts. But only a small percentage can create stories, artwork, and virtual content that really grabs people due to its atmosphere, tone, style, imagination, etc.

Right now most of what we're seeing is mass-produced "look what I can do" stuff, and yeah, that gets boring fast. I imagine a small percentage with true "AI talent," whatever that comes to mean, will eventually emerge.
