WMV Virus?

Recently, all my WMV files (over 200) are displaying in all green and red (pixelated?) and after I try to play more than 2 or 3 my computer locks up. Is this a WMV issue, a virus, or both? The files all have volume and Realplayer files play just fine. They are all stored on an external drive. Thoughts?

Could be a corrupted player. Which one are you using? Perhaps try using another player and see what happens?
 
If it isn't a software issue it could also be a hardware issue..which would explain the locking-up.
