Women who shave "down there"

I think we all know what is meant by "down there"...don't we? And for those of you who don't know...no, I don't mean in the basement. This is something I have been thinking about for a while (you can tell I lead a full life, hey?) and I'm just wondering if anyone else feels like I do about this subject. (Probably not, and it wouldn't be the first time.) Once in a blue moon I will venture off to view "adult" sites (okay, maybe twice in a blue moon...but certainly never thrice in a blue moon...I'm not that much of a perv. Okay, maybe I am, but that's beside the point.) When viewing pictures of the women on these sites, it seems to me that approximately 82% of them do the shaving thing "down there". Don't get me wrong, I realize it is a woman's own choice to do what she wishes with her own body, so I really don't want any flames to arise from this topic. However, for me personally, it's a huge turn-off. I know guys like Howard Stern (and probably tons of other guys) find this a turn-on, which is fine. However, when I see this, I always feel like I'm looking at a 10 year-old girl...which is an instant turn-off. The simple solution is just not to visit these sites anymore. Hey, wait a minute...that means I'd have to stop visiting TMF, since this site has been known to feature the occassional unclad female. (Is this a great site, or what?) Yes, this is quite a hairy subject and I'm just wondering what others think.

For a brief time I dated a woman who was shaved clean. Personally, I liked it.

Initially I appreciated it as a novelty, but what really turned me on is that it made her incredibly ticklish when I stroked her with a feather. I'd love to tell you it turned her on but it didn't. 🙁 That's ok... it turned me on. 😀

Whether shaved or not carries little importance for me in terms of attractiveness. However, shaved women have a major perk - no more of that damn peeling-hair-out-from-in-between-teeth. That's an activity I can definitely do without.

I do not much care for shaved pubic hair myself. But I believe that it is largely a matter of what you are used to.

Having grown up in the U.S., where almost all women do shave their armpit hair, I found it bizarre the first time that I went to Europe, and saw many women with hairy armpits. (It was in the summer, so many were wearing sleeveless tops.)

When you think about it, hairy armpits are the natural state, and shaved armpits are artificial. But I was used to the artificial, and the natural seemed weird.

So if you are used to the natural growth of pubic hair, any shaving down there with seem weird to you.

When we were looking at having our gathering at a local club, we got a copy of their schedule. Among the many things they had listed were "pussy shaving" and "cock shaving" nights. Of course, they also have foot nights!

Personally, from a womans point of view, I don't care for it. Guys, imagine the worst razor burn you've ever had and then having that in your privates. Then, think about the itching and chafing that occurs when the hair grows back in. Not fun! lol Having tried it, I can attest to the fact that it makes one much more sensitive to a light touch, which is cool. But, overall, I can do without. I never put much emphasis on the physical appearance anyway. So, that aspect doesn't matter to me.

Me, I recommend hair removal creme for that area. So do the women I know who go for the hairless state. It spares one the razor-burn, and good cremes also make the regrowing hair soft, thus saving the itching. The chemical smell after the initial removal is bothersome, but a good long bath gets rid of it.

From a female perspective, I am with Ann on this one. For me personally, it is uncomfortable and irritating. My husband also has a preference for the 'natural state', which works out well for us. When viewing pornographic material, I don't care for the appearance of it as well. Trimmed and shaped, fine...even wonderful. But completely shaved, no.

As for those males who commented on the 'hair between teeth while dining' problem, don't forget, we women deal with the same exact problem when we step up to the buffet. Yet most of us would never ask or expect a man to shave himself clean 'down there'. 😛 😛 😛 😛

I personally like my women shaved down there, however, like the women that responded most women do not like to shave down there. I'm not the type to force someone to do something they wouldn't want to do, so I more than willing to live with that area not shaven. The one thing I cannot stand is hairy armpits on women.

I tried the hair removing things, only to find out I was allergic, don't like the shaving although can be very eroctic with your partner. I find that once you are clean shaven there, try waxing. Leaves you smooth as a baby's bottom. And from experience it does make you so much more sensative 🙂

I too am allergic to nair and all those chemical things. They leave me no more smooth AFA the hair goes and very sore from the chem. burns. I'd rather just leave the hair! 😛

As someone from L.A. where the brazilian bikini wax is almost a town requirement (painful as it may be) I was happy (albeit curious) when my boyfriend told me that he preferred a more natural look and actually thought that I had too little hair "down there."

I mean does someone really look like a woman when she just has one little stripe or nothing at all? Not very sexy in my opinion (although I do prefer a nice little groomed shape). Hey it's still fabulous and ticklish no matter what it's form! woohoo!

I actually thought this would have generated a lot more answers. Maybe not as much as the "ask a stupid question thread"...but more than it has. Anyway, I used to be involved with a woman who was completely bald down there...if she would have been from Tijuana she would have been a Mexican hairless. (Some of you will get that, some won't). It got to where I was actually finding myself getting slightly repulsed (okay, maybe too harsh of a word, but I can't think of anything else at the moment) looking at that bare beaver (again, can't think of a better word at the moment) staring at me. Again, it made me think of being with a pre-pubescent girl...which is the last thing I want to be thinking about at that moment. I actually started to do some research and discovered that they actually sell merkins, which is a "wig" specifically made for "down there". I probably would have bought one for her as a Christmas present (can you just see the look on Aunt Helen's face when the whole family is sitting around the tree opening presents and that one is opened? "Gee, dear...that's an interesting looking present...what is it?" "Why, it's a...um...er...it's a fur drink coaster. Yeah, that's what it is, isn't it SWEETHEART??...accompanyed by a look in my direction that could kill). However, the gift was never purchased because we ended up breaking up. No, not because of that...there were other "hairier" issues between us.
