I've thought about this for quite sometime. I think it would be pretty awesome. 🙂 Once I get my own life situated I think I'd love to put this together. I'm sure the cost has to be around 20,000- 75,000 estimated? I'd have to start a Kickstarter or GoFund. Do you think its necessary, something you would be interested in, or... I mean it would bring in people interested to the forums such as here. Plus I think it would help people find other people into this more easily. And be given a good introduction if its done right. (I'd rather put myself or someone here in charge than say Michael Bay.)

I have thought a LOT about this over the years so- what do you think. This is not something I can undertake right now. But quite possibly in the future. Especially if there are contributions. If no one's behind it or for it ... not a lot of reason to keep pondering the idea. And I don't think it would be possible to raise that much money. But I could be pleasantly surprised! So, what do you think?

If you are going to raise 20-75k for something you will just be giving away, why not raise it for a real charitable cause?

I definitely agree its a bit optimistic. VERY optimistic. HUGELY optimistic. ANDRE THE GIANT optimistic.

And I can't disagree with you on that there are certainly more deserving areas where this money could go.. but let me ask you this: If no LGBTQA movies/ documentaries were made- how far along do you think we would be? (I'm Bisexual). You don't feel this fetish is deserving of more attention for sex positive awareness? For adult education? Maybe I AM wrong on this, but this is why I am bringing this up. Tickling for a lot of people has been a very painful experience. For some a lonely experience. An embarrassing experience. The list goes on and on. You don't think this would give attention TO the producers, directors, anyone involved with the production of tickling videos to help them MAKE money? Or for forums for people out these struggling with their fetish in finding others? It certainly wouldn't detract! I promise you I'm not trying to tell you, you're wrong. I have worked for charities since I was 16. Animal rescue, Homeless shelters, food drives, clothing drives, Cancer and HIV awareness, GLBTQA awareness. I even worked as a Caregiver to Alzheimer's patients for 3 years. (Not a charity obviously but in caring for peoples that was a hard job on me physically and mentally.) And I will be volunteering my time in the future. If you really want to talk about where money should go...well... where does every last dime you spend go on non necessities?

I think this would be a good thing. Again, maybe this is not necessary. Just trying to get feedback without having to question my morals. Because I think my morals are sound here.I wish there would have been a documentary on this when I became of age. Yes, I had the forums (well... alt.tickling ), and yet I still struggled with it. But, maybe its just not necessary in the age of the internet. Because I only speak for myself here.

I think Fetishists have to make a big deal as compared to Vanilla. Just to be heard. But that's a big debate right there, and I don't have all the answers on that topic.

I think its a good idea. Even though as others have stated its been touched on before, it was mainly part of a "another" fetish thing. I feel that a documentary by those involved into tickling would be more sensitive to certain subjects and give it more of a realistic viewpoint. Whenever a interview or documentary is made it usually is from an outside perspective hoping to get those outside to see inside. I think if its done for the fans and not so much for the outside world I think it would work better. just my opinion.
 
I agree with most of what derkitzelnkonig said. However, that aside... going over what you plan to include I can't see how this would cost you any money at all, let alone twenty to seventy grand. What exactly do you plan to do in these interviews that would require that much money?
 
That was just a guesstimate I literally pulled out of the air. I was thinking of cost of equipment, travel, crew costs, food costs for crew of 3 maybe? Car rental, gas... I had read once Lloyd Kaufmans book Make Your Own Damn Movie"!! And as much as I could get interviews and locations for free... everything else costs money. Maybe I could make it for 5,000!!?! Idk I've never done this before!! At this point I'm just the idea person.

Do you plan to try to get this on a cable network, the Internet, public access television, where? I think one of the science-oriented cable networks might go for it if you approached it as an anthropological subject-- why are we ticklish, the history of tickling, what's the connection between foot tickling and sexual arousal, etc. Then you could go into the fetish, BDSM, fun onstreet interviews, and maybe even a demonstration. TLC might go for it.
 
I like the idea of a documentary and would support to the extent that my modest resources allow. 😀

Please let me be clear. This is a hypothetical idea I thought I'd throw out there to all of you. I can't do this. Maybe someday. I can dream right? But, since I can't do this at ANY near point in time, if ANYTIME- I thought I'd post this with my own ideas of how I'd like to see it. Excuse the money talk- I'm talking aloud. When I dream, I dream big, and intricately.
 
Well, ya just never know....someone may come up with an idea or two that might just work, for little moola. Who knows?

On a related note...does anyone know where to get a copy of the Sexcetera segment Jeff/MTP did with Playboy? I remember seeing a few 30 second clips back in the day, but I'd be interested in seeing the whole segment. I"d be willing to buy a copy if Playboy or someone else has it for sale.

I love documentaries but so often being the kinkster I am, docs seem to thrive on the outrageous nature of them. I live the life of a Ler and a Lee and I would want to be portrayed as the average American that I am. I'm into bdsm sure, but tickling is innate. It's like breathing. So, for me, if the doc was about showing how normal and fun and healing and fulfilling it is.
 
Guess you could make several arguments.... Some people really like sex; some don't. Some like to ride roller coasters; some don't. Some like almond joys; some don't (because they don't feel like a nut). And so on. So maybe such a documentary should point that idea out. Or not.
 
If you're going to do a documentary, I'd suggest THREE ideas for three documentaries:

1.) A standard "tickling" fetish documentary, aimed at vanilla people who could care less about tickling, or may be mildly interested.
This one is pretty straight forward, and would be the least interesting, for them and us, but it would serve an introductory purpose.

2.) A second one would be a really good, behind the scenes of tickling entertainment - producers, models, artists. Where the artists get their ideas - do they watch
videos, watch secular movies, go get tickled and come back and draw pictures, read books, etc.? A video producer one would be fantastic - what goes into making
a video, from inception to uploading it on clips4sale, if piracy has affected their sales, with data to back up whatever claim they've made. Turtleboy has been the only one I've ever
seen who has provided solid data, with one post where he said "This guy bought over $200 worth of clips from me in one sitting...then did a charge back the next day and I lost all those sales,
but the guy has my clips." Do the models come in the outfit they're tickled in, or do the producers have them on hand? Do some models love it, or some standard fetish models - show a
variety of them going to each producer, and talking about how each one is different. I notice James Darke and FTKL share the same studio - the behind the scenes of their relationship would be
fascinating. What happened, how did it feel when things got big for some of the smaller guys - Turtleboy starting out, recently Simply Tickling when he hired Savannah and got several pages of
positive responses, etc. What videos do well, which ones don't.
This one would be far more interesting for us here...and I bet for the general audience. We assume they'd like the first one, but after that one, the second would probably keep their interest more,
even though it's not done with them in mind!

3.) An in depth tickling documentary for the Tickling Media Forum itself.
It's initial forum, from news groups, to Psycho's forum, to Psycho finding religion and hanging around a while, then leaving it in other hands.
It becoming the form it is today, with a few members. Then slowly growing, to the vast number it is today. The beginnings of tickling videos, from the old Vid Tech days,
other small, mysterious videos, maybe research their origin, maybe even Elmer Batters tickling pictures from way way back.
Harmony Concepts (remember them?!) and FM Concepts. Then tickling fetish producer produced, Magic Touch, the Hawaii tickling company (Solefully Yours?) Real Tickling, who did a number
of big things - offer really pretty, ticklish models. Sell cheaper video tapes - that had to be MAIL ORDERED, oh the old days! When other were charging $70, he charged $15, $20.
Then he started DVDs, and a website - I still have pictures and short video clips from back then.
Then Clips4sale, and the producers thoughts on going from long form VHS to DVDs to short clips, and how that changed things.
Models who even started their own, short lived in most cases, tickling stores - Vivianne, etc. If you could find any old models and interview them, how wonderful would that be -

Interview moderators, who were the first, why later ones joined, who left. What are their challenges? Some figures who may have been booted off, and behind the scenes drama they
had to deal with. What behind the scenes drama did some producers deal with - recently Zen Tickling hired his best, most ticklish model yet...who was harassed and left altogether. What happened,
how bad was it? Why did certain producers quit, and talk to older producers if they'd help - Viper, Magic Touch, Tickle Haven, Guilt Trip, some smaller guys who were on the edges.
NEST, the origins, the first ones, how they've grown or not grown, what it's like today...

THAT would truly be the immersive, long, interesting one, and even though it'd be made for us here, I bet people outside here, in the other fetish communities and general public, would be
fascinated.

I've had all three of these ideas. Who knows what the future will bring!!! Thank you for giving me such an in depth look at the 3rd idea- I only know about 20% of what you mentioned so WOW I would have a long way to go!! It makes me think I'm so not qualified to undertake that on. It's too bad because I would love to. But if someone else could by all means. That would be SO GREAT!!! The second I know I could. But, this idea has to be put on the back burner as I realized I haven't even been able to go to a tickle gathering yet... so I have a LOT to experience first myself. 🙂 Here's to the future whether others takes the reins on these ideas or myself- either way these ideas SHOULD come to fruition somehow.
