Wow, this place is getting boring!

I have been fiddling with this concept for so long. This place is losing the lustre it once had for me. Does anyone else feel this way?I mean, this place is just filled with spammers and then boring people in the chats....nothing...interesting goes on....anymore....I've got to spice this place up....even my occasional trolling is not spicy anymore...

I dunno. I kinda like that the place isn't a haven for drama *****s and flamers. i don't really come to a tickling site for heavy discussions on world affairs and whatnot. I can point you to a supposedly "flame free" tickling board where you'll get all of that and more, though.

Admittedly, I've been having too much fun in meatspace here at the start of 2010 to bother with message boards and the virtual world more than occasionally, though.

I'm with you, Journia. The regularly posting population has dwindled to maybe a dozen or so people, and they're all entirely predictable. There's no one to get to know and no interesting discussions cropping up anywhere. Even the art scene is practically dead. This place is really feeling over lately.

I find forums really to be equal to people leaving way too many sticky notes on a poster board. It's not spontaneous as to actually face to face relationships. Who knows how long those notes have actually been there? Who knows who really left them? And who the hell would respond to every single one in a time punctual manner?

Really I don't have the time to check a forum all day to see if anyone responded to my post, etc my rants, and expect them to have any real significant imprint on my life. Exceptions maybe but forums are too damn casual, cept if you're really close already. Senshi and....what's her face....I forget.

Now talking to an actual person, that's worth all the time in the world. Cept assholes. I hate assholes.

If you mention politics... forgetting that all the 16 year old kids here don't have any interest... you get flamed. If you mention God, you have a couple people jump all over you with science and bullshit and eventually get a thread locked. So this place has become a virtual bus stop where people hang out either posting more [God help us] cartoons or waiting for free clips and pics from producers... just to usually chime in and point out shortcomings.

You'll notice the people with one foot still in reality and happy to talk about real things - like Hawk- don't come around as regularly. These fucking threads that get 15000 views and 200 responses to "HEY! I'M NEW HERE..." are just the death of anything interesting here. If you're female, just go ahead and post pictures of your feet and get it over with, because that's all there will be - more requests for it. I've seen 7+ year threads revived here more in the last 3 months than ever.

I agree that it's gotten lame. It's the same shit all the time. And that shit is shit. Once in a while, there's a breath of fresh air that blows in like Papi and Meka sharing stuff, a talented artist like Umojar, or a decent writer. For the most part, the spirited debates and interaction have given up their seats to new mods and hypercritical childish ranting. THere used to be a time when there was a nice wide variety of personalities here. Now there are about 3 flavors.

I just rejoined, so I can't say that I'm bored with this place. I'm actually still in the honeymoon phase! (Only this is a sexless marriage. Dang.) If you need me to be entertaining, I can be. 😉

These things come in waves. Like Rick said, some flame-free forums are on occasion more active...but active in what? Also, to go along with Rick here, I myself have been far more involved in meatspace. That and trying to make one decent working computer out of what's left of two. Add to that the winter blahs and the aforementioned social tide, and you get these quiet times.

I'll do my best to liven things up a bit in the near future. 🙂

Some of us have been here longer than 11 months. And a few years ago, it was possible- and nice- to have those types of discussions. Back when we didn't know everything and were open to other ideas. More interesting, worldy people sharing their actual lives and activities. Unfortunately, it's devolved. Big time.

I'm not sure if I fall under one of the 'predictable' ones or not, but, even if so, yes, I do notice a sort of 'glazing over' on this site lately (lately being, I don't know how long, honestly, my memory and time management skills are CRAP!! >_<).

I don't know if it's the lack of AWESOME threads by Izzy, or Purple always seeming to come on the chat when I'm about to leave, or, what. (Though, with me and Purple on the chat at the same time, it just might get a little heated... might. I'm warning you in advance if you see us both online in the chat :stickout)

Well, hope this lull only lasts for a little while (- a little while longer), and things go back to their normal happiness, which I don't really remember. :lol

I agree with nerrad. A lot of people don't realize how green they are on here. When it meant something to be from Tickletheater. When there was a rivalry between tmf and tt. Now it's just shit.
