If I remember correctly, Triple H has already lost to the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 17, ten years ago, so my question is do you guys think Triple H has what it takes to end the streak ten years later?

Triple H 18-1

or

Taker 19-0 What do you guys think?

Funny, I was just thinkin about making this thread...but you know...this is a tough one...I mean honestly the deadman has to be thinking of retirement soon...since last wrestlemania he hasnt had much for matches at all...hes got more things going on in his life than just being in the ring. Personally I believe HHH could do it, there arent too many more superstars that can take him head on...but regardless...im gonna be opposite of what im saying and say Taker 19-0

lol

*chuckles* What do I think?

I think Triple H will "have what it takes" to beat The Undertaker if the script says he will.

Personally if anyone in that company has the "juice" to end the streak its Trips. Should he? Probably not. Will he? Comes down to ego, that being said I don't think HHH needs this on his mantle nor do I think he wants to tarnish his legacy with "true" fans by putting himself over the WWE.

Although I think it will be a great match because these 2 know better then anyone on that roster what Wrestlemania means to the WWE and both will anchor this card.

I think it'll be played as Undertaker being responsible for ending his hetero life-mate, Shawn Michaels' career, and Triple H getting "vengeance". Billing him to win wouldn't be a bad choice, especially since the crowd popped louder for him than for Taker when they both returned.

nope i think vince is still gonna hold out for one more year for the sting.... since sting is the only person that is undefeated against the tanker.

I think Shameus will interfere and cost HHH the win.

That being said, I think HHH is one of the very few that could get the win without backstage complaints. I think he and Cena would be the only two at this point because HHH is a multi-time champ with a heavy reputation in the business and Cena is the 'face of WWE' and sells a zillion tee shirts a year, much like Hogan or Austin.

I find it hard to believe Vince would let an outsider like Sting just waltz in and beat the Taker at WM, even if he did sign with WWE. As someone mentioned, it would take a good year of hype and reasoning. I've heard Taker does not care about "the streak" but whoever ends it will be instant legend.

Yeah because if anyone complained Triple H would have them working as the curtian jerker match or put them one one of the weekend shows like Superstars and take them off Raw or Smackdown . Honestly there are two possible outcomes for this match ...

1. This is Taker's last Wrestlemania and he is hanging it up for good so Triple H gets the win *and if the rumor is true that HBK will be the special ref then chances are it will be HBK that helps Trips get the win *

2. This IS NOT Taker's last Wrestlemania and the match ends in a double countout or double DQ or something that allows Taker to keep his streak intact but Triple H not have to take a pinfall .

To be perfectly honest , Taker has no ego he is one of the most respected wrestlers in the back and I think if he was to decide this is his last match and he had to lose he would with out hesitation , it is Triple H that has the ego and makes it so he never loses or gets pinned *DX vs Legacy submission match for instance *

Either way this WM is gonna be a snooze fest even The Rock can't bring the WWE back from the abyss it has fallen into I mean lets be real , you know you are desperate for matches when you have two announcers having a match even if one is still a part time active wrestler, Plus King is a better Main Eventer than most of the current ones . All in all , this is gonna be a lackluster WM that won't really have any memoriable matches or moments unless John Cena and The Rock battle in the ring at the end or something and even then if it doesn't lead to a match later on then really it is for nothing .

This one is hard too analyze... It's not like Hulk Hogan VS Andre the Giant. Your not passing a 'torch', sort of speak. Both men have had equal time on top of the wrestling commerce mountain.

I think the only person to retire the undertaker will be undertaker. HHH is pretty much headed to take over the family business. I dont think hes going to be wrestling for that many years. He has alot of creative control.

*POSSIBLE SPOILER!!!!!! don't read if you don't want it to be spoiled *

I read somewhere that Taker is gonna retire after his streak reaches 20-0

According to what I've read this week Vince McMahon wants no direct reference to the match at Wrestlemania 17 at all....Infact Undertaker beating Triple H there apparently never happened. I guess most of the PG-13 audience would be to young to remember anyway.

HHH ending the streak would be a complete waste of opportunity to elevate someone. Trips can't be any more over, so what's the point of him ending it?

No, the streak should only be broken to give a gigantic push to someone WWE thinks will be their future.

I was just gonna post something to this effect, but I see someone beat me to it.

Good call. 😉

And yet , the conversation continued undeterred after I posted that comment.

Almost as if ... wrestling fans can't read , or something. 😛

If thats true that WWE wants to pretend this is the first time Trips fought Taker at WrestleMania, then its just to give the Taker character one more "soul" to add to his trophy case. Just like when Hulk Hogan bodyslammed Andre at WM3 they ignored the fact that Andre had already been bodyslammed several times both by Hogan and others.

All I got to say is one of the best matches ever in my opinion. Even though H lost, he was still able to leave on his own will and taker wasn't. Hands down best match of Wrestlemania 27.

Taker 19-0

No way Taker should have won...I mean 3 Pedigrees and a Tombstone...hell of a match....there should be a rematch last year like Shawn Michaels had two shots

If their was one great Wrestlemania match; it would be Ric Flair versus Terry Funk. About, fifteen years ago. In a 60 minute Iron Man match. Those are two men that can make a wrestling show worth it!!

Another would be Sabu versus Mick Foley in a "Hell in a Cell" match; with an abundant of weapons. I remember Sabu and Mick(Cactus Jack at that time); wrestled in a cage match with weapons in the ring - in Vegas. They know how too put on a show.

A current dream match: AJ Styles versus Jeff Hardy in a Death Match.
