since the WWE is having a special program dedicated to Wrestlemania's greatest matches, i thought i would give my opinion on what i thought was the 10 greatest matches. here goes....


(in no particular order)

1) Ricky Steamboat vs Macho Man Randy Savage WM III
2) Hogan vs Andre WM III
3) Shawn Michaels vs Razor Ramon WM 10
4) Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart WM 12 (or is it 11?)
5) Rock vs Hogan WM 18
6) Hogan vs Savage WM 5
7) Angle vs Lesnar WM 19
8) Rock vs Austin WM 19
9) Hogan vs Ultimate Warrior WM 6 (although this was the most devastating loss i witnessed. i still hate the Warrior to this day...)
10) Dudley's vs Edge/Christian vs Hardy's TLC match WM 17 (or is it 16?)

The best match to me was Savage vs Steamboat, WMIII

Hogan vs Warrior. They went beyond their usual limited repertiore and put on a phenomenal match, with an ending that surprised everybody...including me.

Not in favourite order, but just picked at random...



1 Bret and Shawn at WM 12. (They may have hated each others guts, but those two worked together better than any other pair I ever saw!)

2 Warrior and Hulk at WM 6. (I was a childhood Warrior fan.)

3 Warrior and Savage at WM 7. (The career match. Heart in mouth stuff and a suitably dramatic ending.)

4 Taker and Gonzales at WM 9. (Probably the only decent match in what was undoubtedly the shittiest PPV of all time.)

5 Bret and Ronny Onaki at WM 10. (When Zuna finally lost the title after nearly a year I nearly went clean through the ceiling. So what if it was only 11 minutes long? 😀)

6 Hogan and Andre at WM 3. (In front of a hundred thousand people or so? However many it was, it showed Andre at his classiest! Putting the new blood over in his first clean defeat for about 15 years at the biggest event in the calender.)

7 Owen Hart and Steve Keirn at WM 8. (Pure comedy value. Owen got in the ring, had a wad of tobacco gobbed straight in his face, got the shit beaten out of him for about 5 minutes, kicked out of Skinner's finisher, then won with a pissy sunset flip without getting a single offensive move in. Nearly killed me with laughing!)

8 Hall and Hickenbottom at WM 10. (Superb ladder match, marred only by the fuck up at the end; Hall takes about two months to climb the ladder and Hicky actually frees his leg from the ropes and has to trap himself by the arm again, to allow Hall time to reach the belts.)

9 Bret Hart and Bob Backlund at WM 11. (Oddly enough this is a match I've never seen. It just has to be a favourite because I loathed Backlund's character with a passion and would have done anything to see the wanker minced by the Hitman.)

10 Me and Neutron at WM 21 in a bra and panties match.
