The problem, my friends....
Is that pro wrestling is going thru another "down" period, as it did from about 1990-1995 or so....
Hulkamania was HUGE from 84-90 or so....
Dead from 90-95
Austin, nWo, and DX were HUGE from early 96-2000
Also, there is lack of competition, which I will get to later...
And when interests start to wane, McNuggets brings out the "big men".
Example- what was the early-mid 90's?
Nash/Taker
Taker/Sid
Taker/Yokozuna
Nash/Mabel
Nash/Sid
Taker/ Gonzalez
You think Vin Man would have learned by now....
When he put the belt on Nash in 95, he had a TERRIBLE match with Sid at IYH 3, I think it was....
After the PPV went off the air, Vinnie, who was commentary at ringside, threw down his headset, pointed at nash, and screamed at the top of his lungs that the match was terrible, and he was thru as champion for good.
You see, McFlurry seems to think that big men will turn the biz around-ala Hulk Hogan....
He also has a fetish for these big guys, and seems to think that we want to see these lumbering, green, stiff workers, who will end up hurting someone eventually....
Snitsky, Heidenreich, batista, etc....
The only good out of the bunch is Batista, anyways....
What they ought to do is put much more focus on the women's division, and the cruiserweight division, and McButtmunch needs to get over himself, and push the former ECW/wcw guys, like Booker and RVD-
They do NOT get a push, because Vinnie Mac did NOT make them stars, and they are from the "enemy" company....
Example-DDP and Kanyon destroyed by Taker and Kane
Kronik destroyed by same
Booker destroyed by Rock
RVD by HHH
The list goes on, and on, and on....
O'Haire was getting an awesome push, and then gone with Piper....
Patience....someone will come along in the next year or so, with the talent and charisma of an Austin, or Hogan, or Rock, and wrestling will indeed take off again....
It doesn't help they have no competition, either....
No, TNA is NOT competition, TNA is WCW 8 months to a year before they died out.
