Mine has gotta be "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels ....followed closely by Bret "The Hitman" Hart .....then would be "Razor Ramon" Scott Hall....and for sheer entertainment factor "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

Overall though, HBK is my fav of all time.

favortie wrestler of all time

hmmm thats hard. but i would have to say these are my top favorite wrestlers old and new

1) bret hart
2) tazz(ecw version)
3) undertaker
4) kurt angle
5) brock lesner

Favorite wrestler of all time?
Tough call. I've been following wrestling since 1985, so a lot of the older greats(Ken Patera, Superstar Billy Graham) I missed in their prime, but saw their final years in the WWF.
For total endurance, and the ability to put on a great performance in the ring, I'd have to go with either:
Bret Hart
Shawn Micheals
Mick Foley

Drew

Patera And Graham...

One gets murdered because he owed the mob money for steroids.. (Patera)

The others bones are crumbling because of his use of steroids. (Graham)

Soon as a wrestler whips my ass i'll find a favorite. But that ain't happening soon.

Tron

here's my list:

1) Hulk Hogan: Hulkamania will live forever!!

2) the Rock: the most electrifying man in sports entertainment!

3) Stone Cold Steve Austin: cuz' that's the bottom line!!

4) Triple H: he is that damn good!

5) Shawn Michaels: the Heartbreak Kid!! the show stoppa! the main event!!

6) Kurt Angle: it's damn true!

7) Undertaker: deadman walking!!

and last, but not least, Neutron: he can kick anyone's ass!!

I was (and still am) a huge Sting mark, but my all time favorite in terms of respect and admiration would have to be Mick Foley. There is a wrestler who has paid his dues time and time again, and put his body and his life on the line for the sake of pleasing the fans. Incredible.

Other wrestlers I did and do love..

Road Dog Jesse James
RVD
Goldust
Austin
Kane (before they ruined his angle)

Mimi

Austin Idol

A little known/remembered character from Georgia Championship wrestling - the universal hearthrob - the ladies pet, the mens regret - master of the Las Vegas Leglock, which was a figure four applied lefthanded so to speak - one of his gimmicks was to cinch the leglock in with a belt so the referee couldn't break it.

the rock, hands down.

but his real name, duane johnson! talk about a nerd name! lol

others tied for second are: R.V.D.
Andre the giant
kane
undertaker
third place goes to: steve austin
mick foley
edge

steve

Hmmmm....let's see now.

HBK
Rock
Mick Foley

I like several others. But, these three are my favs. Since I didn't come in on watching wrestling until about 3 years ago, I missed a lot of the old greats.

Ann

Favorite Actor..

Which is what this thread should really be called...

Morgan Freeman
Denzel Washington
Martin Lawrence
Robert Duval
John Travolta

Tron

Patera?

Gotta correct ya, as I am a wrestler, albeit close to my last match....

1. Ken Patera is alive and well, living comfortably in Montana, where he runs a wrestling training school.

2. Dino Bravo was killed in 1993, in his home, over a dispute over trading and smuggling cigarettes on the black market. His wife came home to find Mr. Bravo slumped over in his armchair, chest riddled with 46 bullet holes.

Please get the facts straight before posting any info.

Thanks,

Lazzy
======================================================================

And just for the record, guys and women I have watched over the years....

RVD
Goldust
Old School Taker
Steve Corino
Colt Cabana
Owen Hart
Goldberg
Randy Savage
Sherri Martel

Other than that, there have been damn few of us to come down the pike, who have been attention worthy.

haven't followed it to be honest but i've seen some old clips of Illio Dipaolo...from the 40's/50's

Lazarus..

You are 100% correct. I apologize for my error. That does not change the fact Patera is a steroid head and admitted to steroid use.

I'm glad you called yourself a wrestler vice an athlete. At least you seem to know the difference.

Tron

Aaaaaaanyways....Yea, I also really liked Hogan back in the day....the Rock has great charisma, and so does Kurt Angle. All about HBK for me though.

same list as me...with HBK being the alltime fave.i would also add Ricky the Dragon Steamboat

:upsidedow

I would also have to give an honorable mention to King Kong Bundy, that guy was one of a kind. He makes The Big Show look like a timid poodle.
Although Spike Dudley makes The Big Show look like a timid poodle.

Drew

Didn't Just About..

All the Von Erichs commit suicide or something like that? They were all miswired steroid freaks.

George The Animal Steele is a teacher at a local high school. Nice guy.

Kurt Angle.. Isn't he that little guy?

Tron

You Mean...

They were great actors.

The one who died in Japan... that embolism was a coverup, the only thing that emboled was a 38 caliber bullet to his head.

Tron

OOOHHHHHHHHHHH, YEAHHHHHH! He's not just ANY man, no, he's the MACHO MAN! His match with the Dragon at Wrestlemania 3 was the match to end all matches. Personality and ability to spare. Close second and third go to Dynamite Kid and Chris Benoit.

Rxx

According to a recent interview with Test(who wasn't in character):
"Kurt Angle is a little guy but the entire back locker room is scared to death of him!"

Drew

For sheer talent I'd have to say Owen Hart. A man who's technical ability was combined with a stellar talent for entertainment. If the business wasn't scripted, his corpse would whup Bret's arse. (PRIOR to the bike accident.)

For being the closest the business has to Mohammed Ali, The Rock. Sure his name may be Dwayne, (Check the spelling Stevo. 😛) but the man is the world's most ripped stand-up comic.

For the man whose entrance music alone could electrify an audience and dump 80,000 gallons of adrenaline into an arena, the Ultimate Warrior. (And that has been his legal name since 1993.) Too shallow to stand the pace of time though and his state of constant insanity and Talking-Utter-Bollocks-About-Everything-Syndrome has made me lose respect for him in recent years. Now sports a goatee and is about 40 pounds lighter than in his heyday.

The Elvis of wrestling? Hulk Hogan. (According to Brian Knobbs anyway.) It was with him in the van, that WWFE turned the business into a major, international spectacle. Painful to watch him lumbering around the ring now though, especially when he gets about a foot and a half into the air and about a second of hangtime when going for his legdrop.

Biggest waste of all time.......

Davey Boy Smith, a.k.a. the British Bulldog. More steroids than a chemical plant, which is why he nearly paralysed himself a year or two before his death, when some of his vertabrae were little more than chalk-powder. Probably the single biggest contributor to his fatal heart attack too. The guy who taught me, tagged with him during one of his independant bookings when he came over to the UK. In the dressing room prior to going out, Davey was laying out all his 'equipment' and he said there must have been something like 20 different needles of varying shapes and sizes. This was in ONE NIGHT! 😱

The respect for sheer guts and willpower winning out over having a body like a bag of poo and an arse like a slate-layers nailbag, goes to.............. Do you really have to ask?

Mick Foley! Gotta love a guy who achieves so much and gets so much respect without having a shop-window physique.

As for wrestlers being actors.........

Well it's usually pretty obvious when acting is happening in-ring. It stands out like a bulldog's bollocks! From my incredibly limited experience (which extends to a handful of matches, the most recent of which was over 4 years ago) very little acting is needed. Yes the matches are scripted, yes the result is decided beforehand....... but those moves bloody hurt! Something as simple as a chop to the chest stings like buggery and don't even get me started on getting various limbs wound up in the ropes. Have you ever had a cheese-wire wrapped round your nuts? (Must have been hell with those crappy ropes WCW used to have!) There is no way in hell I could have even made a jobber's career out of the business, I just valued my joints too much. It takes more dedication than most people would dream about! That's why I like that "Try lacing my boots" commercial for the WWF. (No I'm still not calling it the WWE. Bloody, bastard shit-faced panda gits!)
Pro wrestling has a higher injury rate than most 'genuine' contact sports. It's harder on the body than leaping naked into a stamp mill and long-term survival in it, really does require an exceptional level of athletiscism. Even guys like Ronny Ounaki were training hard. His early death was pretty predictable though, just like Andre's. At that size, no heart is gonna last for long.

Hey Wil.......

Was Sherri the sister of Rick? Kind of puts an icky slant on that match at Summerslam 92! :blaugh:

Once again, facts are misrepresented

1984-David von Erich-Acute enteritis-(inflamation of the intestines)

1987-Mike von Erich- did inded commit suicide- OD on Placidyl

1991- Chris von Erich-suicide from a 9 mm

1993- Kerry Von Erich-suicide from a .44

1997- Fritz von Erich- cancer

A younger son died in the early 80's from a fever (5 or 6 years old).

There still is a son alive, Kevin, I believe, wrestling in Texas, and Japan as well.

I honestly have no problem with you presenting facts to the forum, but through my years as a wrestler, I consider these men and women brothers and sisters. Please refrain from besmirching them; it would be very much appriciated.

Sherri and Rick are no relation whatsoever. Rick is from Canada, and Sherri is from Missouri.

I will admit, and have seen, many wrestlers juicing up and such....as far as steroids go-(I have never touched the stuff-I go 5'10, and 230....mostly muscle...😉)

But to not say any of us are atheletic....well, you have NFLr's and every major sport doing 'roids.....Brett Favre was addicted to painkillers, Kobe Bryant raped that chick, Pete Rose was busted for gambling.... that guy from the pirates whapped that costumed chick with his baseball bat....and on and on the list goes....

You may not like wrestling....that's fine; to each their own. But please don't....and I ask this on behalf of everyone here....please don't turn it into your personal soapbox about your dislikes. This is an honest discussion about who we like as wrestlers-sports entertainers, if you will-and being a wrestler myself, i have been letting your brash comments blow by me, treating them without much regard, just correcting your "facts".

I understand your point about drugs as well....

1. Superstar Billy Graham is indeed in a wheelchair because of Roids eating away his spine....but he goes from school to school, talking about the hazards of drugs and Roids, and has at least attoned for his use, understands he screwed himself up, and is trying to prevent many others from the same mistake.

2. "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig was found dead in his hotel room in February, OD'd on cocaine.....this is true, unfortunately.

3. Scott Hall has been in rehab many times for drug and alcohol abuse.

This proves one thing....

We're all human.

I can't speak for everyone here, but I have experimented with drugs....I tried pot a couple times.

I'm human.

I don't hold these things against people....I'm above that mentality.

If there are others who feel as Tron does, please feel free to post a thread here at the forum..."Why do people like wrestling?" or "How 'fake' is wrestling?"

We're just a motley crew of ticklephiles who happen to enjoy the art of sports entertainment-(being as I have been a wrestler since I was 12 years old, and at 30, my last match should be soon), and we just wanna talk about our favorite performers.

I respect you opinions, don't get me wrong....but there's a time and place for them, and this particular thread is not the place, in my opinion.....

Thanks for listening, and on with the discussion!!

Lazzy

aka- the only 23 time world champion in the WNIWF- Xtreme

🙂

P.S.....Hey, Jim....I don't know about you, but in my opinion, one of the biggest losses from wrestling is my British brother, Davey boy Smith....he was a HUGE talent, that I personally, miss quite a bit. He should've gotten that World Title push in WWF....
