Nice to hear it, Doc. I can relate to the gratification experienced at completing an extended work. What's the "period in history?" (If not yet public, maybe PM?) ...
Update: I'm close to wrapping up the final chapter, and have started messing around with possible cover images. Right now, I'm thinking of an image something like the one below. Would love to hear any feedback on it.

I've been working on it for around a year, and I can say the research has been kind of fun. A lot of it has been online, since I don't live near any big libraries; I've been amazed at the amount of useful resources that are out there.

Well, it's finally finished. I put the last touches - adding some photos & captions - to the book last night. Now to get in touch with some publishing types (I've already contacted a couple, actually, and am waiting for responses) and take care of the copyright.
So what's it about? Without getting into too much detail, it's set in the period of World War I.
