i will admit they did seem a little weirded out by it (i watched it live) however at the end kevin said that next week they were going to tie olivia up and tickle her so im keeping my hopes up

I am soo glad I gave up on G4 a long time ago.

Wow, if they decide to tickle the chicks... please somebody post the link or tell me. Those were some great clips they showed, I have most of them. And I agree, making that segment was alienating, however, I don't get offended any more... especially since it had some great clips. But it could make others worry about coming out... but at least in the comments I saw, everybody wanted to see that lady tickled so hurray! Even though she looked mortified. 🙂 *fingers crossed*
 
I don't think it was a step in the wrong direction. Their big comparison was between tickling and bondage, and if what I've been seeing recently in real life is any indication, tickling and bondage are getting closer and closer to being synonymous.

no, S&M and bondage are more synonymous than tickling per se, though I do agree in the video tickling is a much, much, much, MUCH more softcore version of S&M of sorts, just instead of pain, it's laughter.
 
I think you're looking for acceptance in all the wrong places.....

just the fact that they did the wtf on tickling shows it's mainstream acceptance, and besides, do you really want it to be all up in everything everywhere? It would kinda lose it's deviant quality if it were watered down by acceptance from everyone, ticklish or not.... I feel like it's happening with video companies now anyway, "acceptance" would just speed up the process......
 
Hmm I find it real difficult living with a full tickle fettish I dont post very often even tho i been here for years. I understand that most people here have the same fettish yet i still feel embarrased. I think seeing hat would put some people off accepting why they feel that way towards tickling.

Disappointing

Well, guys, just watched the new episode today, and sad to say, sorry, but there was no tickling at all.
 
I find the tone of G4 annoying in general, since 99% of their airtime is spent letting everyone know that they're too cool for the room. So I think their reaction here is just a general symptom of their inability to show affection for anything.

Far more telling is how they spent a whole segment casting people who are into tickling as weird, and then when they made a joke about tickling Olivia everyone in the studio seemed pretty into it.

A step in the right direction...

There was nothing wrong about it. They did a pretty in-depth look. They were neutral about it. Of course it's weird to the people that don't have a fetish, but the tone of the whole segment was one of tolerance. It's all for the better. If it does become mainstream, we're more likely to see more mainstream clips.

I completely agree with your rant.
There's only been two shows that I can think of that DIDN'T portray us as weirdos.

They are: Cathouse and Unscrewed with Martin Sargent.

Alot of people have already seen/heard of the Cathouse episode with tickling so I won't explain it, unless someone reading this doesn't know, then I'll explain.

Now for Unscrewed, that was a talk show that was on Tech TV and hosted by Martin Sargent. He had this segment called the "Wheel of Fetish" and whenever an episode didn't run long enough he'd use that as a filler. Well one day it landed on Knismolagnia. He wen't into a short 5 minuet description of the fetish and actually didn't make it seem weird. As best as I can recall that is, the show has been of the air for around 4 years now and I can't find any video clips.
 
what ya expect from corporate mainstream? anything that isnt "hip and cool" or "unknown" to the public book of what someone has to be is weird or not right to them. could be tickling fetish, could be a certain kind of food that just doesnt happen to be "in"...right down to even music.

I have to agree with Timewarp. This kind of shit continues to add a stigma to our totally harmless activity, and groups us all in with those BDSM folks that like to inflict pain and suffering. Those activities are WORLDS apart from what we do!
 
Now people see why I turned away from G4 anymore. All I wanted to know about when going to that channel was for some gaming info. Nowadays, it's about hot girls, ninjas, and police chases. Oh, and the occasional Star Trek here and there. Who the hell thought adding these to a GAMING channel was a great idea?

Sure they still cover the big press conferences, like the Tokyo Game Show and E3, but ya know what they focus one big hour on? Not the game systems. They focus on the booth babes. Yea, what did ya expect, actual games? I sure did, and so do most people.

And now they stoop this low. I am NOT surprised in the least. Attack of the Show was beginning to be a cool show when it first aired on TV. But then it went from less and less about advanced technology and gaming news, and more and more about sex, ninjas, and these "WTF" moments. It's just ridiculous anymore.

I already stuck a fork into the G4 channel a couple years ago. It's been done for the past years and has grown rotten now.

I had a few thoughts:
1.) You're exactly right about the co-host Olivia at the end... if it's so weird and strange, why does the whole room seem to cheer at the idea of her being tickled? That proves something, doesn't it? It's clearly not the reaction you'd get from an activity most people thought was truly weird & perverted. If they did a segment on bestiality, for example, would the whole room cheer for the idea of Olivia screwing a donkey? I don't think so.

2.) They threw in the part that when we tickled as kids, it "always started out as fun..." so that mainstreams it a bit.

3.) Like me, most of you guys have probably paid lots of attention to what "regular" people think of tickling, i.e. those who aren't particularly into it. Do you guys believe most people think tickling is "weird"? Not me. I believe most people think tickling an attractive girl is just fun, even if it's not a sexual thing for them. That crew reaction to Olivia is proof.

4.) Do they not realize Howard Stern used a tickle chair on his show for years? (Anyone know why he stopped?) Still, it was strange that they presented tickling an adult girl like no one had ever heard of such a freaky, weird thing, even though Howard is pretty popular and did it for years.
