WWE Diva Victoria to retire...

When they say women who can wrestle are a dying breed they aren't kidding. Lita, Trish Status, Molly Holly (well she is MIA at the moment anyway), and now Victoria is going to join that list. To bad she only got to be women's champ twice she was deserving of far more then that.

This took me my surprise during SmackDown when her retirement was announced. Seemed to come out of nowhere. I'll certainly miss Victoria.

I would say the knee brace she wears is proof of that. I will giver her big time kudo's over Trish. At least she stuck around to try and pass on what she learned to the up and commer before she left. Her and Molly Holly were two of my favorite all time (actualy that entire Stratusfaction age of women's wrestling was fantastic). Finley was running the show then, I heard he was put there as a rib, and as it turned out the women folk sometimes stoled the show from the boys. remember WrestleMania 20 Molly and Victoria had one of the best matchs that night, on par with HBK vs Y2J IMO, a good story with great wrestling beats a great angle with ok wrestling every time.

In your previous post, you talked about Lita (retired at 31 yo), Trish Stratus (31) and Molly Holly (29). Victoria is 37.
BTW Liu Kang and Sub Zero are supposed to be good friends in MK story. 😉

Victoria's retirement was predictable, despite her abilities.
The WWE bookers lost interest in Victoria because of her age. They prefer to push younger divas like Maryse, Michelle McCool or the Bella twins even if they're less experienced.
And pro wrestling has always been a sexist world, so it doesn't surprise me if a diva has a shorter career than her male colleagues.

However, according to rumors, TNA tries to hire Victoria, so perhaps she's not fully retired yet. If those rumors come true, it should be interesting to see her in the ring with Taylor Wilde, Roxxi, the Beautiful People, etc.

I don't know if Molly retired, I think she was just pissed with all the Barbie Dolls being brought into the company. It was pretty obviouse they's decided to forget skill and go strictly for chees cake. I think that is more the reason for Vic's retirmeant then anything else.

I don't know that muchs about the MK univerce. The only game I own is Armageton, and that was only because I could make my own fighter. I love that aspect of the wrestling gams, especialy the SmackDown ones. Whatever I may feel about the wrestling these days those games (up to SDvR 06) are/were awsome.

Yeah but McCool is not even that great of a wrestler. She's just over-priced eye-candy.

Now give me Lita or Trish Stratus any day of the week. Both were awesome in the ring, and not just 2cd-rate 'eye-candy'.
