I think the whole concept of this was brilliant. WWE fans typically buy into anything the WWE endorses, good or bad, so this is a great way for people who are promoting projects to get out in the public eye, and in a fun way. Ever since it started, I've been trying to think of people I'd like to see on there. The first person that comes to mind that I'd like to see is Denis Leary. We've been Netflixing the Rescue Me seasons, and I can't get enough. RAW's cleaned up a bit since the days of Steve Austin, and I kinda miss those days. Who better to "dirty it up" than a drinking, smoking, pissed-off Irish guy? He could come on there to promote the release of Rescue Me: Season 6 whenever it comes out, get interrupted by some angry superstar, go on a rant-fest, give someone a cheap-shot with a beer bottle and run away, etc. I'd just rather not see Hornswoggle incorporated in such a scenario, because he'd be too... I dunno, "light-hearted"?

Who would you like to see hosting RAW and why?

I think the whole concept is hit and miss. When it's someone connected with the business or someone that's a huge fan (like Shaq) it's great, but when it has hosts that don't have a clue like those two douches (forgot their names) it's stupid and lame. Summerfest anyone?

I was so ticked that I missed Trish Stratus last week.

I think it would be fun to see Mr. T host Raw. He was in Wrestlemania one and also he's a good entertainer. He could bean the bad guys in the head with a snickers bar if they tried to cheat.

How long can this last. It's been three months already. They need to assign a new GM and move on. Al Sharpton is hosting RAW next week. Do you really think this guy has ever seen an episode of RAW?

WWE does what WWE wants... it's in their name: World Wrestling ENTERTAINMENT. Whatever they end up choosing to do with their 3 brands, it's almost a guarantee that people will tune in. (Barring a colossal catastrophe of a decision or direction to take...) WWE is like gasoline: people may not like what they see or get but they pay for it/tune in anyway because they need it... for whatever reason. Let's just view this as a particularly painful moment in "wrestling" history: the glamour era.

this whole concept is awful, as ticklefiend put it most of the raw guest hosts have no idea whats going on and dont understand the buisness. Its really hurting the ability to push feuds and hype PPVs (summerfest???)..

If this does continue they need to keep it close to the vest and stick with former wrestlers or people who are/were at one point involved in the buisness, there are plenty of people i can think of off the top of my head that would make good guest hosts

The Rock
Stone Cold
Hogan
Bischoff
Lita
Flair
Bret Hart (wont happen but still)
bob orton
macho man (again no chance)
ricky steamboat
arn anderson
paul bearer

just to name a few, people like cedric the entertainer,zz top, jeremy piven and bob barker have no place on raw. The only good guest hosts thus far have been affiliated with the buisness at one point (except shaq he was decent)

I gotta disagree with some of you guys. I liked the episode with Jeremy Piven, even if he DID butcher the name of the pay-per view. Jeremy carried himself well on camera, but the dude who was with him was irritating as HELL! He was hogging the mic and just being obnoxious. I liked how they were bold enough to "turn heel" at the end, as celebrities, taking the "Andy Kaufman" approach. The episodes with former wrestlers just make me think it's a slow week with nobody promoting anything. Sgt. Slaughter was an extremely boring host. ZZ Top didn't hold my attention much, either, though. It IS kinda hit-or-miss, but it has its good points. Shaq was an entertaining host, but everything that happened there was completely predictable. I also liked how sincerely scared Seth Green looked after thinking more and more about what he had gotten himself into.

The only good that's come out of this in months was the 6 diva bikini match. Even that suck a bit because Kelly Kelly had sneakers on. Which i actually didn't understand at all. Not from the standpoint of a foot fetish. But from the standpoint of all 5 other girls being barefoot. If she accidently stepped on one of them and broke a toe or ankle then that diva would be out due to injury. Just not good practice.

I agree that it should be former wrestlers or someone who actually have worked in the pro wrestling business . Its just another sad attempt at Vince trying to blend mainstream Hollywood with pro wrestling , you would think he would have learned he can't do it after the clusterfucks known as the XFL and The Marine .

If he is hellbent on getting celebs to host it , for christ sake get people who have some relevance , for christ sake he has Al Sharpton hosting next week . Al Sharpton belongs on Raw as much as a KKK member belongs in an NAACP meeting .

Yeah the whole guest host thing is nice but how much longer can it last?

Al Sharpton? Seriously?!

To help you out a little Coup, one of the guys you might be thinking of is Floyd "Money" Mayweather, the guy that came out when the show was half over, made no matches, and no impact.

You know who I would like to see host RAW (and Ive started of thread of this myself but with a more light heartedness to it but this is real honesty) a fan of the WWE. Think, its the WWE Universe, in essense it's our world, (we being the fans of WWE) why not have a contest on the website with people saying why they would like to host RAW, and if its good enough, they get the job, its better than grabbing random celeb from whatever and running them out there week after week.

I see Al Sharptongue guest hosting RAW as an attention grabbing device, nothing more. If nothing else, the casual viewer may tune in just to see what happens- most likely, it'll be nothing. The guy I was referring to was Piven and his screaming stooge. It was painfully obvious that both of those guys had a wrestling IQ of 0... and all the incessant screaming made me want to reach through the TV and choke him until he looks like that guy at the end of Total Recall suffering from oxygen.

Some weeks the guest host gimmick works well and other weeks just makes you do a *facepalm*. WWE is like your HOT ex girlfriend; predictable, flashy with very little substance. You know she isn't good for you and the relationship will go nowhere, but you keep taking her back hoping that she'll change when in your heart of hearts, you know it'll never happen. The sex is great, but in the end, you're left feeling perplexed and empty.

I think the Guest host gimmick has run its course and it's time to find a legitimate replacement.

I read somewhere that Dennis Miller said he would be a host sometime in December. Looks like there are at least two more months left.

And again, some one who has never watched WWE or has ever cared to watch but yet he's in line to host.

Just dont get it...
