They did this last time with ps2 and xbox
Also, although you are forced to get the new system because games will only be made for it, but unless you got a HD tv, xbox 360 is worthless for graphics

Well, perhaps its best that you wait until after Christmas to get the 360. Here in Canada there were reports of it malfunctioning and melting the cd's that it played. There were concerns that Nintendo pushed the release date too far forward on production, so it would be out for Christmas. So most of the people who bought one for their kids, had to take them back. After all, you don't want your kid all excited about something that may not be working properly.

While I was looking forward to the Xbox 360, there are disturbing reports on the net about it's build quality, with errors ranging from the power supply over heating, to scratched disks.
With it being pretty much impossible to get one before Febuary, it's probably best to wait until this time next year. Not only will it likely have dropped in price and be readily avaliable, the PS3 will also be out, and you should have a good idea as to which console is right for you.

HA! I knew it wouldn't hold up to close scrutiny (And I'm not just saying that because I'm a Sony man). Those jokers at Microsoft should just stick to doing what they do best- making computer software, not video games consoles. Oh wait....alot of their software is riddled with problems and shortcomings too...
Some people sure have bet on the wrong pony in their choice of game consoles. 😛 Microsoft's worksmanship is pitiful and substandard. They're good at putting an idea down on paper and mass-producing something, but thats about it.
XB360 is like wiping yourself with a scratchy leaf! With the PS3, you'd get a soft, gentle 4-ply sensation that is sure to not leave any remnants!

I have to agree with the above posts. Not only is 360 frigin expensive(or maybe it's just cause i'm broke) but i heard the reports also. They said the graphics were'nt all that good, and over heating. I've never been notified about scratched disks, but yeah, i suppose that's true too. Also, like what k said, by waiting, you can get a sense of all of the consoles and decide which one is best for you, based on reviews and such. I'm keeping my eyes on the PS3 but meh, you never know what could happen.
I'm actually a bit surprised nintendo is doing pretty well. It didn't do too well lately but it seems to have made a comeback. I'm not a fan of nintendo, but you have to admit, that new controler was sexy!Lol

Sony always plays it safe. They don't unveil their creations until they are confident they are ready.
Microsoft rushes things. It's becoming like Sega (of America or Japan), unfortunately. Sony knows how to play the game and the North America market. Microsoft is either going to crash and burn or lose the race entirely.

Also, I would much rather pay a bit more for a system that either doesn't have these flaws or shortcomings, or has less of them, and be assured of a wide game library sooner than later.
And as for a silly controller (which is really a matter of personal taste), you could always buy one of the many other ones I'm sure they'll make. Mad Catz (a company I live near) is one of the leading makers of game controllers, memory cards, and other peripherals.
There will be options people. Sony always makes sure there is. And while Microsoft may play that same tune, if they have a less than satisfactory product, it won't matter as much or at all.

I'm not talking just about what people prefer, but about the actual companies themselves and how this will effect them and their standing in the video game market and industry.
Remember, if these folks don't deliver, they ultimately sell out or go out of business, or drop out of the race. Those are the potential fates of any company. And no matter what happens, that effects what you, the consumer, has available to them.
If more people come out liking the XB360 and buy it in record numbers despite the knowledge of these flaws (or being ignorant to them) then thats different. But I just don't see that happening. Consumers are purchase conscious these days. They want to know what they're paying for because its surely an investment that will continue to be one for decades at a time.

Being a Sony AND Microsoft fan when it comes to video games, I was planning on getting both. I knew I wouldn't get either at launch, because I like to research first. But hearing about the flaws the Xbox 360 has, I'm starting to swing toward just playing it at a friend's. No matter how much I want Halo 3. :happy:

As for me, when it comes time to upgrade to another console, I'll be going with Sony once again. Never had a day of trouble with the PS2. So I'll just wait until the 3 enters my price range and pick one up. I'm no genious when it comes to graphics, speed, or technoligy, but I know what I like.

Im a fan of nintendo, sony and microsfot but truth be told what is everyone playing on xbox 360. I just cant imagine anyone getting this machine till 2006 when some games come out for it. I dont wanna a next gen system for madden 2006 or another ww2 game. Im not trying to bash the system, i just feel they should have waited a bit. However, that wouldnt be the micro$oft way.

There's still a chance to get an xbox 360 ya know...Best(worst) buy has been recieving in weekly shipments of them since the release date. They are not to sell any of them, though, until december 19. If you go there on the 19th (no they are not doing a midnight selling or opening early) you can get one. Good luck to you!
