Simple poll. Who's going to win the Yankees-Phillies World Series

Although the Phillies are my home state team, I really believe the Yankees will win the World Series. I say this for a few reasons. One, the Yankees have home field advantage, which often helps in the Series. Two, the Yankees have superior starting pitching, a better bullpen, and the best relief pitcher in the history of baseball, Mariano Rivera, as opposed to the Phillies very inconsistent bullpen, and questionable starting pitching.

Offensively, the teams are evenly matched, but I think the pitching advantages, combined with the home field advantage, will cause the Yankees to prevail in this Series.

Sorry, Viper. I'll admit I was a bit sour grapes last week, and I'm sorry about that. I'm not being a traitor, just expressing what I think. However, as a baseball veteran of over twenty five years, I know that many times, the "favored" team doesnt win. My Braves were favored to win the World Series in both 1992 and 1996, and lost both times. Many times in the World Series, the team that isnt "favored" wins. Look at the 1960 Pirates, the 1969 Mets, the 1996 Yankees, the 2001 Dbacks, the 2003 Marlins, and on and on.

I'll say this. It wont surprise me a bit if the Phillies do win, and it should be a great series.

Oh Mitchell, you know I am just joshing with you.

As I said in theother thread, I haven't been following the Yanks at all this season, so I can't speak for how well they are playing.

All I know is, I want the Phils to win. 🙂

Earlier, I would've said the Yankees. Now, I'm not so sure about that. The Phillies actually looked stronger in the NLCS than the Yankees did in the ALCS.

It's too close to call IMO.

mils the professional baseball fan calls it. If this does happen, then the Yankees will lose the deciding game of the World Series before their home fans for the second time in a row, as they also lost Game 6 at home to Florida in 2003.

the yankees 3 man rotation will be their downfall cc cant pitch on 3 days rest 3 different times (if it goes to 7) he will break down and cost them a game

burnett is wishy washy and will be awful on 3 days rest in game 5

phillies in 6

Yankees in 6! I believe in my guys! They have the goods...not to put the Phillies down but the Yankees will win!

Yankees in 7. Hal Steinbrenner seems to be under the impression that the players are motivated by his father's poor health :grandpa: . To quote him, "I think all these players are doing it for him. We want to win this whole thing for him, and I think we feel like he's here. He's a big part of it."

I like both teams equally. So, I don't really care who wins, as long as they're good games.

AW, come on! You just don't want the Yankees to win. I am guessing Yanks in 6. Mariano Rivera and home field is the difference

No??? Really??? Wow!!! When did you figure that out??? You wouldn't want the Yankees to win either except your other half is a Yankee fan and we understand who the boss is there. 😛
