Until MLB wakes up and imposes a salary cap, the Yankees will have an unfair advantage each and every year. All three of the other major sports (football, basketball and hockey) have a salary cap and it has worked well for them. Until then, the Yankees will go out and just buy the best players every year and other teams can't compete. Case in point...Teixeria, Sabathia and Burnett. Would the Yankees have won the World Series without those three players that they overpaid for? I think not. To you delusional clowns that think the Yankees spend money where other teams do not, that is true to a point. But the Yankees have a multi-million dollar television deal with the YES Network that results in the Yankees having much more money to spend than the other 29 clubs in mlb. It's a disgrace that the Yankees haven't won the World Series since the year 2000. The Yankees had a 201+ million dollar payroll in 2009. The NEXT highest payroll team had a 135+ million dollar payroll. The Florida Marlins had a $36+ million dollar payroll. Until MLB has a salary cap, it will always be a battle of the have's vs the have not's. You can't say that some of these lower tier teams aren't willing to spend the money when they don't have the resources to spend the money that the Yankees have. The Yankees will always win in a bidding war for the top free agents versus the smaller market teams. After all, it is a business and all of these teams are trying to make some sort of profit in these tough economic times. So with that being said...F the Yankees!!
