Yaqi and Stern

I'd like to thank all of those who have been so generous in their compliments and support of my recent Stern debacle. It makes it very difficult to give a good interview when you're in a room of people machine gunning you with insults, stepping on your lines every time you speak and having to deal with such relevant questions as "Do you feed your girls Exlax before you tickle them?"

I have to report that the responses I've gotten from the mainstream world have been overwhelmingly positive and supportive. I've had more than a million people visit my site since Friday and have sold literally thousands of my videos since the weekend. What's really exciting about all this is that the people buying my tapes (post Stern) are not ticklephiles. They are mainstream individuals who never considered tickling before and want to see what it's all about. The email response has been absolutely encouraging, as I'm getting lots of letters from people who found tickling to be fascinating and "something new" to explore.

Howard and company can call me gay, sick, a serial killer all they want. The reality is that Stern gave me an hour long infomercial on tickling. The responses I'm getting clearly indicate that the viewing public sees past all the garbage and appreciates the actual content of the material.

And when I do my shows in Hollywood in a few weeks I'll be reaching a much broader and different audience. I'm doing a show on NBC, non cable, which will reach as many as 100 million people worldwide.

Again, to those that have offered support and feedback in this endeavour, I give much thanks. I don't think anyone will be disappointed by the tickling in tonight's episode. And you might find a change in Howard's attitude when he gets into the action!

I'm not surprised that Howard acted the way he did, espically with something like this; He might be the kind of person that makes fun of something that is new at first and then really looks at it in private (because nobody is listening to him).
But you are right, that once Howard starting tickling all that crap he was talking about flew right out the window! 😀

Yaqi is a brave man

Thanks to a friggin thunderstorm that knocked out my sattelite signal I did not get to see the visual version of the E broadcast but I was able to download an audio version and I just want to congratulate Yaqi on surviving the barrage of abuse from Stern and his crew. Whether Howard Stern is actually an asshole or just does it for ratings, the point is that Yaqi held his own and stood his ground no matter what stupid comments they threw at him. I've always believed that there is no such thing as bad publicity and if nothing else, we got a solid block of time on Howard's show dedicated to our subject of interest. Plus, I like how TickleChgo (sp?) called in to support Yaqi and plugged the TMF also!

I'm hoping to be able to see the visual version of the show sometime in the future because I'd love to see that first girl on the bed tickled. She sounded unbelievably sensitive. I bet it was a real treat to get your fingers on her, Yaqi!

Anyway, I can't stress enough how impressed I was at the way Yaqi composed himself in the face of so much verbal abuse. You've got balls, my man. Great work!

I'm not sure what his name is, but the guy who took over for Jackie seems like a complete prick. If I were Yaqi I probably would've smacked him around. I felt like he gave Yaqi a harder time than did Stern. Just thought I'd throw that in......I applaud you Yaqi. Keep up the good work.

I think the problem was that Yaqi was very serious about the topic. I know all of us take tickling seriously, but I don't think others understand it. Howard was Howard and was very joking about it which Yaqi seemed upset about. I think he just needs to understand that others can't relate to tickling the way we do, just as we probably can't relate to other peoples likes, dislikes. Also, I don't think we can blame Howard for being hard on Yaqi, when you go on that show, you know exactly what you're getting into. You just have to be ready for it. I can't wait to see tonights show!

Dear Yaqi,

Congratulations again on your recent and soon-to-be achievements! It's really amazing that you have come this far so fast on the mainstream. I think you held up very well under Stern & Co's bombardment (true, people, it was par for Howard's course). Thank you, thank you, thank you for being the ambassador of tickling to the world-at-large.

Only one very small comment from a real fan of yours: Regarding the excerpts Howard showed from your tape which featured you speaking about the meaning and value of tickling...I felt the content of what you were saying was very good and made a lot of sense, but it does come across a little bit "angry" or "too serious" in the way you were saying it. Can you see what I mean at all? It's related to what evilqueen mentioned above about intensity.

In other words, a tape discussing tickling should come off more lighthearted and fun and not quite so "I've got a critical case to make to the world". I know you are passionate about this subject--rightfully so--but the medium of your speech, your affect, was not matching your message of fun, joy, stress-relief and so forth.

I can't say enough about what an accomplishment this is. You are the MAN! My comments are from one who is totally on your side and wants to see you soar gloriously and triumphant!

More power to you!!!

Yeah, good job Yaqi. The fact that howard actually let you come on the show showed that he had even a little interest in what you were doing. Most people don't even get on the show and even when they do, they are usually made fun of more than you are.

While I don't think Yaqi is a fag or anything, I wouldn't have told Stern I tickled men, or especially that he liked it or whatever. You should have known where they were going with that. I did like Yaqi's sarcastic returns there a couple of times, I was like "Get 'em "YaKi""! But on the same token, he DID appear rather feminine while they were talking, and that just fuled their fire. I mean, if he's going to represent us, he should be a little more cool about it. I also agree that the video they showed of Yaqi was a little too serious, even appeared on the surface that he was way too much into it, and that does tend to freak people out. While Yaqi didn't seem nervous, he did speak rather uncomfortable, and acted kinda funny. I wouldn't want the mainstream audience thinking that we're a group of queers or social rejects. (Not saying I think Yaqi is, but stern did have a few good points!) If we're going to go into the mainstream with this, we should be just a little more conservative. Just my 2c.

Stern is always so predictable

Yaqi, I wish I knew you were going on the radio with Howard. I definitely would have prepped you on how his show survives and strives on pounching on certain personal issues . . . ALWAYS without ever cutting a break! A friend of mine in LA has the same agent as Howard and I have discussed in detail the strategies taken for his show and it's always the same predictable format. I know several people who have been on in the past. My wife turned down an offer to visit the show when she was talent for a syndicated TV show in the late 80's. The girls whom she worked with on the series agreed to go and took a verbal beating because they are great looking ladies and he kept forcing them to discuss personal sexual issues. I agree you got a one-hour infomercial for free which reached millions of listeners and now you know not to give shock jocks on radio or TV any unnecessary ammo in the future. Choosing to hold back certain personal feelings and traits about ourselves is exceptable and not hiding the facts. I am looking forward to seeing the little blonde cutie squirm like crazy tonight. I'm also setting the VCR. Hope you had a good time. Great success to you . . . one of the pioneers. 😎

To those of you who have commented that Yaqi sounded "feminine" or something similar, I do not think you are being fair or sensible. In terms of Yaqi's natural voice, he sounds however he sounds! He has to be himself and he shouldn't worry about whether it comes across as "macho" enough for others.

Regarding the sentiment that he "should be more cool"--there is nothing cooler than a man bravely crossing frontiers when most others would run and hide. I believe Yaqi's willingness to fulfill his dream (and ours) in the face of ridicule more than establishes his manliness for any who need proof.

And BTW, he is NOT representing us in the sense that one poster expressed it. Yaqi does not OWE us anything.

The Best Tickling on TV i've EVER Seen!

I watched Yaqi on Howard 2nite. I LOVED it!!! Heather had some GREAT reactions, but Star was VERY disapointing. And i loved at the end during the credits where the camera man gets Star 2 tickle Heather and she ends up chasing her down the hall. That was priceless! Luckily i managed 2 tape this, so i'm gonna watch it over and over and over and over...*SMACK* OW! Anyways, ALL HAIL YAQI!!!!

I finally got to see the video of this on E!...as a matter of fact I just caught it in the nick of time before they started on the first girl's feet which is what I specifically wanted to see after hearing the audio version of this. But keep in mind that Howard Stern is a shock jock. That is how he gained his popularity which now is on a downfall. If he went after Yaqi it because that is what he does. He will never change. That is not a reflection on Yaqi and I am sure most of his audience knows it. I would trust Yaqi's judgement before Howard Stern's anyday.

I just got done watching part two...thank God it was on, since I missed Part One...

Normally, I'm not into M/F tickling...or MM/F tickling...but after watching that episode...damn...sorry, I'm a little speechless right now...

Yaqi, bravo. It's nice to hear Howard Stern admit that when it comes to him tickling women, he SUCKS!!! It's about time he got a real lesson on how to tickle, and the best person to teach him is you. You did a great job keeping your cool despite all of the unnecessary bullshit which spewed out of the mouths of those scumbags who work in that studio. I commend you.

As for the two ladies, I simply loved the reactions of Heather...but you can tell Star was not ticklish...and I can understand if Yaqi was getting frustrated about that. I would have been also. However, during the credits, when Heather and Star were tickling each other...that was indeed incredible. 😀

Way to Go, Yaqi!!

Last night, my wife walked into our den and says, "you're going to love what I just taped for you!" Seems that she was flipping through the channels, and caught the last 5 minutes of your appearance on Howard Stern. As soon as she realized it concerned tickling, she started taping it for me (she of course knows about my love of it).

We watched it together. Here's the amazing part: we BOTH liked it. She has no special interest in tickling, other than her willingness to indulge me, because she knows I love it. But she told me it was one of the better things she's seen on Stern. She also said to me, "see, apparently lots of people are into tickling."

It looked great!! Sure the Stern group are a bunch of juvenile porn-aholics. Sure they took a bunch of immature jabs at you. Sure they didn't really have much of a clue as to what tickling is really about. WHO CARES???!!! You came off great! You held your own quite well! Your sincerity came through loud and clear. You got the message out, despite the Stern moron crew's constant interference! Most of all, you were an excellent ambassador for tickling!!!

You have performed a great service for our entire community. Words just cannot adequately express the stride you made on behalf of all of us!

I too watched the shows, part 1 and part 2, and they became my favorite Stern episodes, instantly. Topping the Ana episode, even. And I'll tell you why -- as mentioned before, Howard is a terrible tickler. Clumsy and lumbering hands.

You, however, have reverence for the art, obviously. It takes attentiveness.

My favorite part was after they ridiculously made that guy Benji approach you, and asked you if you were in a bad mood, and you said, in a very funny way, "Well, yeah, THAT kind of put me in a bad mood." Your attitude was right on in dealing with Howard's crap. Wouldn't have changed it. The teasing of the guests on that show is inevitable, wholly unavoidable. So much so that we as an audience have grown numb to it. We don't even see it anymore, instead it has become transparent protoplasm through which we see the topic at hand.

And your topic shone through the protoplasm brilliantly. Heather was wonderfully ticklish all over, and you showed the mainstream audience how fun tickling can really be.

Yaqi, the show was a complete success, I'd say. You got the message out there.

I'd also like to congratulate Yaqi. Yaqi, you did a fantastic job, w/the tickling, and also keeping your cool through all the abuse you were taking. However I must say I'm a little disappointed by all the hostility towards Stern. Keep in mind, folks, Howard goofs on everybody, including himself. And as I mentioned in an earlier post, Howard was open-minded enough to put Yaqi on his show(and apparently on future shows as well), and we should all be grateful for that. Sure Howard could be polite, respectful, and politically correct to his guests - and he'd probably be off the air in three months! So I wish everyone would stop being so thin-skinned. As much as it hurts to admit it, tickling(although much more popular, mainly because of the internet, and ) is still not exactly mainstream, and if the world was more open-minded, and accepting of anything different, then we wouldn't need this forum in the first place. I'm sure Yaqi knew Howard and his clones were going to goof on him. I heard Yaqi might be going on Letterman, and the gap-toothed one will probably also somewhat abuse Yaqi. I'm just glad Yaqi has enough guts to pursue his dream, and make known his passion of tickling. He's got more guts than I have.
