Hey people.
OK, so I know it's a little early, but the mushiest day of the year is almost upon us again. I dunno if I need permission for this but if I do, if any MOD's wanna gimme a yell that would be fine. I dont wanna break any rules.
OK, with that said, I wanna run a contest. Seeing as how Valentine's day isnt far, it's gonna be a contest to see who can write the best love poem. It dosent have to involve tickling but it can if you want it to.

Now for da rules:
No offensive and or nasty sexual stuff
No minors to be involved in any entry (under the age of 18)
No entries to be recived after
closing date: Friday February 12th 2010

Please post all entries as a reply to this thread. The winner will be reaveled on Sunday February 14th 2010, Valentine's day. I hope I get some entries, good luck,

Ok so when I first saw this thread I was thinking that there is no way I could write a poem. But then I thought no this could be a good challenge for me to do something different and something creative for a change. So here is my attempt at being creative.Feedback is most welcome as this is the first poem I've written.Thanks

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
This isn't another cliché poem for you.

Love lies deep down inside of me;
Only passes my lips when the meaning is true;
Very hard to ignore even when the timing is not quite right;
Expressed through all of my senses all through the day and all through the night.

Love is wherever you are,
Whether you are near or far.
Love makes the butterflies flutter,
the heart skip a beat and every hair stand on end.

I love you when we are together and even more when we are apart.
I love you because you are my soul mate.
You know what makes me tick.
You make me laugh, cry, scream and shout.
But no matter what you still manage to make me feel on top of the world.
You make me feel as free as a bird; you are the wind beneath my wings.
And that is why I love you- for always and forever.

So take my hand and we shall go together-
Let us be free to live our lives in our own little world.
Let us make footprints in the sand and ride the roller-coaster of life;
Hand in hand and side by side.

My attempt

Well here is my attempt at a poem. Please forgive me for I know not what I do! ;p

How was I before I knew you?

I tried to not love you – it was too difficult, too much against it.

I was sure you looked straight through me. You would never love me. Couldn't, wouldn't.

Yet here we lie – in our own world, in our own time. You saw me. You noticed me. You loved me.

My deeds and experiences are now not enough – without sharing them with you they pale, meaningless.

Your look – when your eyes hit mine I dissolve. The world sharpens – like a veil pulled away from my eyes.

Your smile – I could bring it to your surface no matter how deeply it was buried. It touches your face – makes perfect beauty better.

Your scent still touching my awareness – a lingering memory or just your perfume on my clothes from last we touched.

The world holds reminders of you – everywhere I go I pass things we talked about and places we went.

You touch me even when you're not here. I feel you. Always.

I miss you so much.

I love you.
 
the hollywood brother actually was going to go away for the ticklish valentine weekend but the weather is putting a change to those hollywood brother plans

I doubt anyone will base a poem around this idea but just to ammend the rule in question, NO SEXUALLY ORIENTED POEMS INVOLVING MINORS (UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE)! Otherwise the I shall destroy your image with my banhammer. And by image, I mean 'account'... and by 'account' I might also mean 'face'. 😉

Assure the poems abide by the forum rules also.

Considering the closing date was yesterday, it is rather a moot point. Of course, the rules kept it pointless in the first place, since the rule before the Pedo-Alert was no icky, icky sex stuff. Still, I wonder who will win! Pins and needles, ragazzi. Pins and needles.

I didn't think it was pointless.I would have wrote a poem if I could write poems lol.I can only write short stories and essays.
